  1. I would be having a look at the small print to see exactly what was covered. you will usually find things like clutches, brake and suspension components and the like are not covered. if they are then it may be worth considering. if not I wouldn’t be having it
  2. A lot of the usual diy chains should have bits for order. you may be better off hiring a tower scaffold for a weekend instead of faffing with ladders and it will probably be a hell of a lot quicker
  3. If your going to the trouble of getting thread lock I would just be posting it back to the gun shop
  4. We don’t have an arial due to being in a signal black spot so have freesat for the main TV - but in answer to your question the TVs in the bedrooms all use online on demand or catch up services. You can watch all the major channels ‘live’ as well (a few seconds delay). I suppose it depends if you like to ‘flick’ or watch the same things at the same time of day. i looked at indoor types and tried many. the magnetic car looking type. The flat a4 paper type and none worked due to the lack of signal / quality. they can be picked up on Amazon for £20 odd. Get your son to buy one and see if it’s an option before you go.
  5. The mother stated the female officer was outside and didn’t come in. would be interesting to see the full unedited video from both parties
  6. Can you not brace the deck with boarding same with the pipe and use a bottle jack. that should allow you to take it easy and watch the connectors for signs of drama. or do some rope type wrapping around that section to try and hide it, same with the other side to even it up failing that a trip to the boat repair yard I think.
  7. Can you not get a couple of lengths of wood and some g clamps or an unbolted tabletop vice to see if that would at least take the worse of it out
  8. Your son sets you up as another paying user via his account and you get the adfree and viewing quality he has. you could also use a streaming stick and take that to your sons and connect it to his internet every month or so.
  9. We have used a shark cordless for the last 3 or so years. I hoover nearly every day. I treated it to a new set of generic filters and it has improved it massively l do find that it clogs quite easily though and like other people I’m constantly cutting hair from the brush bar! The battery is also showing it’s age but lasts just enough to spin through the whole house we do have a bissell commercial upright that lives in the garage now but that thing is phenomenal and knocks spots off most others. Its heavy and no use for stairs mind!
  10. Once it has flowered and then close does it die off straight away or does it remain like that as in an orchid until the flower falls off
  11. New houses round here do not have a copper landline it’s all fibre, there are no traditional phone sockets. ours has them fitted to every room aside from the bathroom and kitchen and they are all redundant but are cabled in. It’s too much faf to get them filled in mind. All calls are made via the router onto fibre (until it goes down randomly one would assume) on a side note we have a Netflix profile set up to the lowest quality we use for streaming via our phone network when away, each hour of film is about 300mb, in auto or top quality it’s about 3gb!!
  12. I have used Bluetooth earpieces for a long time, if I use my mobile I will predominantly talk using an earpiece. I have always used plantronics and have lost my last remaining one. sound quality and battery life were brilliant with a good volume. they are now only selling the type with little boom type mics which I’m not after. I have tried a couple of non brand and branded like haves but a lot lack in sound quality or volume. I dont get on with the ‘hearing aid’ type with the gubbins that sit behind your ear anyone have any pointers as to a set that fit this admittedly narrow criteria I don’t mind dropping a few quid on one I have added a picture of the type I’m after
  13. Can you not hire a floor scrubber with a scouring type disk. should remove the worse of the flakes and rough it up enough. failing that a large wire brush attachment and a power drill along with a whole day!
  14. I’m sure I recall him fronting the news at 10. either way he seemed a nice bloke and had the perfect tone for a news presenter.

    Pike Attack

We used to fish a deep balancing pond using sticks and line as the roach would take corn off the surface. a fair few time a pike would stir the bottom and go for the silver fish. funny how quickly young lads can get their feet out the water. I only ever saw a pike face to face once as pulled my toes before I lost them. Lol
  16. Yep. It’s a good couple of hours by the time you have parked up. Lugged the stuff out. Put up and sorted the awning properly. Carpet down and bits sorted in the awning. especially if you are also lugging kids bikes and the such. if your lucky to do it as a couple in a large fixed bed caravan then in less than an hour you can probably be sorted if you even need to have an awning at all
  17. A lot depends on how much you want to drop on your chosen pleasure. a tourer gives you the freedom to use your car at the end but factor in a good half day getting properly set up and to take down either end. If it’s just weekends you are looking at a caravan is a right faf and you will probably find that with the cost if fuel and pitch fees you are probably better off renting a static caravan and having your home comforts (obviously this only really works out of the main holiday seasons) we used to do a few weeks with our caravan and it was a godsend when we had the kids and money was tight, luckily I didn’t have to pay for storage Do I miss my caravan …. Yes do I miss the faf of setting up, usually straight after an epic drive and then a day at the end packing up…. No for weekends I would be looking at the camper route - probably a transit type and not the full motor home jobby
  18. I think if you read the consultation it acknowledges that machetes bill hooks and the like have a legitimate use in agriculture, bushcraft and the such. the intention is to ban machetes and such that serve no practical purpose and are not covered under the zombie knife regulations as well as closing the defence loopholes. Fear not I believe your weed patch will still succumb for the next few years at least.
  19. Dusted off from the loft and a throwback to the 80’s and 90’s Tested working with a good battery life. Complete with genuine charger / power lead and a pdf copy of the instructions. I have listened to local air traffic control today. £35 posted

    Woks ?.

I think my wok is my go to pan. I cook curry, chilli and the such in it, along with the obvious (occasional stir fry)
  21. I recall reading in the money columns that most insurance products were increasing in price. I think if you have trawled the comparison sites then you have done all you can. I too have noted some of the ones not on comparison sites are way way north of anything I had seen. on a side note one year one of the big insurers refused to quote of the same vehicle we had insured with them for a few years. it was stated they were shifting their risk and our demographic and vehicle did not fit in with their new model. We were late 30s with what would be deemed an ‘executive’ car.
  22. I think you might find it was for formal identification. After a period submerged in water I very much doubt that any coroner would put the family through having to identify the body visually. still as you say very sad for all concerned.
