    AUTO RENEW

Had my motorcycle policy ‘auto renew’ I had to look through the paperwork to find out that they’d doubled the premium. They also forgot to send me a renew notification. a quick call to them to tell them exactly what I thought of their business practices and a full refund was issued. I wonder how many people just accept it?
  2. I’ve used AirTags for things in the past and each time the batteries have lasted almost bang on a year, so they need to be a bit accessible to keep them active. As to the ‘finding’ range, all it needs is an iPhone within range to relay the location to the internet and on to you. I’ve been able to track things in my London office from dubai. Also had one in luggage and could follow it on the journey around various airports.
  3. I didn’t realise they still made portable CD players, but there’s loads on Amazon - some even rechargeable. not sure on your budget, but probably something there for you.
  4. RAC do (or used to) give the option of joining after you’ve broken down subject to an additional payment, if you’re willing to risk it it may be a better option after years 2/3? e.g. never break down, never pay; compared to pay per year and never breakdown.
  5. You can also get bottom lead taps for helicoils which start off as the previous thread before cutting the thread for the coil. Used to make sure the tap goes into the sump square and central to the old thread. Have used them a couple of times to save sumps.
  6. Tie a thinner rope round a tennis ball and smack it down the pipe with a snooker cue.
  7. We have them at work and they never seem to be boiling - although they are maintained correctly, tea and coffee seems to loose heat quickly.

    VHS Tapes

Just wondering, if they’re copyrighted videos would a commercial company transfer them for you?
  9. This is a very simplistic calculation and takes into account no real life costs. As an example, who processes all the associated paperwork (NHS, dr, dentist, school places, asylum application, housing, etc. etc.) and do they all do it for free? Just because it’s on Google doesn’t make it true. 🤪
  10. This isn’t a like for like comparison. 24 out of the 25 tests for fabric could have stopped 87.1% with a single outlier at 62.6%. The spread of the surgical masks has not been given, this could be a lot lower and a lot higher than that of the fabric mask - a totally useless comparison really.
  11. If you wear a mask and pass wind, you can still smell it; so if that can get through I’m sure a virus can…
  12. Mine seems good, shotgun cert renewal forms signed within 48 hours and only £25. Couldn’t tell you about any other services as luckily I’ve not needed them.
  13. If you paid by credit card, a simple call to the card company will sort it.
  14. I’m also going to guess there’s thousands of people on the ground that would have happily taken a space in any hold - but as I’m not there I can’t do a survey to check.
  15. I bet all that’s preventing the hold use is something like there’s no emergency oxygen masks and no emergency exit - surely if it is only these reasons, somebody could have overridden the rules in this situation?
  16. My brother did his HGV licence quite a few years back and had the same prob - “you need 2 years experience to drive our trucks”, but nobody would give that experience. So he started driving buses, they’re always looking for drivers apparently.
  17. If two transgenders enter they can’t both win, will one be upset that their plans haven’t worked out or will they just accept it like all other entrants?
  18. Spyderco UKPK great knife and non-locking. Almost the same as the Byrd tern above but with a round thumb hole, so feels nicer to use.
  19. A genetic issue called ‘Factor 5 Leiden’ aka economy class syndrome affects upto 10% of the population without the majority on people knowing they have it. The outcome is that they are more susceptible to blood clots. So if people affected are leading very sedentary lifestyles, spending all day in front of Netflix because they’ve just had a jab and feel rough, factor 5 is likely to play more of a part than the injection, but people put 2 and 2 together and come up with 93.
  20. Aren’t these the expats that didn’t bother to register in Spain? One of the reasons being that they didn’t want to pay income tax whilst working cash in hand over there; so if that is a reason and similar was being done in the UK I think most tax paying people would want the same thing doing.
  21. Give it a few hours and it’ll feel like you’ve been punched by King Kong. 🤣👍
  22. This one? pinned on ‘guns and equipment’

    Italy

So the Germans are now blaming their upcoming third wave entirely on the ‘British variant’ - no mention of their totally inefficient vaccination programme.
  24. So does petrol, but that doesn’t stop millions of us climbing onto a motorcycle and putting our legs either side of a tank full of the stuff.
