I've got the very largest size (140x92) durasoft mattress with the wicking cover, <3 months use in the former case, none in the latter, which I would sell. Is that the size you mean, or is that too big?
  2. Healthy young roe doe clearly changing into summer coat, a month ago. Never seen anything like this extraordinary mild winter.
  3. It was indeed 2009, in Marrakech. This report says that the official version was that he dropped his gun, it went off and shot him in the neck. But it doesn't seem to believe it. Very sad either way: he was 53. http://m.armietiro.it/lutto-per-il-tiro-a-volo-scomparso-cesare-bornaghi-armi-2196
  4. Where is that? Wicklow? Dorset?
  5. At the risk of arguing with myself, a bit of reading reveals there to be no consensus at all.
  6. I'm no expert, but I think it's a pretty standard view among sociolinguist academics. Ie that the closest modern accent to what standard English would have sounded like in Shakespeare's time is a Brummie/West Midlands accent.
  7. I find it hard to distinguish the accents from the people. Brummies are the best people in England, and say some of the most drily funny things. So I find it hard to hate the accent, even though I quite understand why people do. Whereas objectively I think Scouse is actually a great accent, it's just the constant pleased-with-themselves whingeing and whining that's so irritating. You could see how, by association, it would make you hate the accent, if all you ever hear in that accent is smug whining. Whereas I think Brummies are truly cracking people with an objectively bad accent. (And voices vary regionally, as well as accents: the Brummie voice being distressingly high pitched and nasal).
  8. Yes, it's what Shakespeare would have sounded like, and Southeners 500 years ago. It's the nearest accent to much older English.
  9. Pretty much everywhere that's been suggested is great. Or the great unspoiled secret: Herefordshire, which is where in England I'd go.
  10. I was on an arid, tiny Dodecanese island last week, in which all hunting was banned by the socialist Mayor a few years ago. The place is overrun with wild chukar partridges and wild goats. Frustrating not to be able to shoot in any circs, but nice to see wild partridges everywhere. (Local people not allowed to hunt now take goats by luring them to water, netting them then slitting their throats).
  11. As in the other thread, I like RC SIPE T3 Fibre in 26g and 28g. If you don't mind plastic, then RC JK6 26g are a great cartridge, I think: fast and hard. If not then Express fibre in 28g (also comes in 30g and 32g). All the above in 6 or 5. I've shot the Fiocchis you mentioned in the other thread in 24g and they were fine.
  12. There's usually a rule that you can only go a certain number of times per month/quarter/year/whatever to a branch which is not your "home" branch. It'll be buried somewhere.
  13. Though it's a hell of a lot less strong than it was 48 hours ago, and most smart money is on it getting even less so: https://www.poundsterlinglive.com/eur/2472-is-the-pound-going-to-recover-45435 So, differently importantly depending what currency you're buying, if you're going in the next 2-4 months, you'd be well advised to buy now rather than wait.
  14. I'm not sure I'd call Fiocchi exactly local, but the other two certainly are.
  15. Splitting the difference/amalgamating, another gun I don't need at all but want is a 28b sxs (by a Birmingham maker).
  16. I think I'll wait a couple more weeks and spend the vast sums thus saved on a whole season's duck and pheasant shooting.
  17. I too have a 5 gun cabinet in which you would easy get 9, but my FEO described it as having only been "cleared" for 5. Currently there are 4 guns in it and I have two empty slots on my FAC. He told me when/if I get the sixth gun it will "trigger alarms" at HQ that I've now got six guns in a five gun cabinet and they will tell me to get a bigger/other one. I would be surprised if this was really true, but we will see.
  18. I thought deer, and was impressed that you shoot several on the way home from work.
