  1. Cut out rust, replace metal, etch prime to get a good bond with metal then appropiate paint treatment as required, think they may have still been using cellulose paint in those years, ( needs testing) IMHO 2 pack looks so false on classic cars, watched it done to a e type restoration I was involed with and I got ignored about 2 pack?, bosses mistake customer most unhappy with finish! Much prefer a stone chip finish uner neath as opposed to underseal, it wall also take a top coat of original colour. Regards Gary. Prev car restorer, E types, morris, mgb's and other classics, lotus cortinas mk1 and 2, 1600e, scimitars, jensen interceptors. Kind Regards Gary.
  2. 100 grams 00 flour. 1 free range egg. pinch sea salt. 1 tbsp olive oil. place in food processor and blend till it just forms a ball, happens very quickly. remove, knead for 3-4 mins, form into ball and in fridge for 30 mins before use. have had a pasta machine for years and love it when time allows. have you noticed its very difficult to get pasta verde now, at least making your own you can add a little stewed spinach or sea kale leaves to the mix. Regards Gary.
  3. +1 for name and shame if this is true, ip address should be black listed from site also!!!! If this had happened to me I would not want it to happen to anyone else, just one bad boy spoils it for the vast majority of good guys. :-( Regards Gary

    Best BBQ

+1, also 6 chefs in our family and they all use thermapens. :-) Also use a digital oven thermometer placed in the meat etc in the oven or closed barbecue, has a seperate receiver you can carry round, ( radio controlled) to let you know when its reached the internal temp, our friends across the pond use them a lot and they are fantastic, I bought 3 last time they had them in Lidl about £20 I think? Happy outdoor cooking, summers coming. :-)

    Best BBQ

I have a large gas barbeque with spit roast and side burner converted to run on natural gas which sits on the patio, for real indian food I made a Tandoor oven that is fired with charcoal to do naans and tandoori meats in etc. Best of both worlds and a real talking point, tandoor cost me under £40.00 to make and I can not imagine not having it now. Summers coming Regards Gary.
  7. I have had one for a month, brilliant bit of kit, really pleased with it, I like the fact that you can hold on the switch and scan and it gives the ranges as you scan, so you can scan a few distances very quickly. Have yet to see how it works with low level light. The batteries can work out expensive if you use it a lot, I bought a charger that came with 4 batteries so i can always carry a spare with it. Would not be without mine now, I also find I use my binoculars less as the X6 optics are so good on the range finder. Regards Gary.
  8. I was a non destructive testing technician, with what I can see it is a material fault, you could get it tested, dye penetrant tested, x rayed and ultrasonic inspection to test for further flaws, it would cost a lot of money, £40 for a new barrel, bin this one, too risky even if cut down. Regards Gary.
  9. Hi Cosd, The charger you linked to is a unregulated power supply, it will charge the battery to a fashion but is far from ideal. Its marketed as a automobile lead acid battery charger probably because they are much more tolerant of non regulated supplies, sealed lead acid batteries work on slightly different parameters, ideally charge with a proper charger when it drops to about 50-70% to get the best life out of the battery. Regards Gary.
  10. Any decent butcher should be able to supply baby back ribs, I dont know your location but if the butchers can not supply, search for meat suppliers to the trade or ask local restaurants/pubs who their suppliers are, they will be able to supply you and if they are decent you will be amazed at the price they do them for, if you are uk and have a decent bookers store near you they should be able to supply but their service/help varies store to store. I only ever eat baby back ribs imho they are the best i never bother with "spare ribs", hope you get sorted ATB Regards Gary.
  11. Call them back and get names etc, then request that you want everything they have said in writing! A telephone call is a disgrace, I take it your son still has access rights to see his daughter? Its not been unknown for people to manipulate others to call and say they are from social services when social services knew nothing about it. once or if you get anything in writing then I would take legal advice, you may have cover for legal matters on some of your insurance policies/ credit cards etc? ATB.
  12. How about something like this :- http://www.kurversschietsport.nl/index.php/features-mainmenu-47/pcp-aansluitmateriaal/produkt/216-300-bar-compressor-reserveer-nu-nieuwe-voorraad-eind-april If you have a few shooting mates would be worth while,or if you bought and charged mates for a refill.
  13. Hi Misser, The following may help you,if not now then maybe in the future, http://www.dbtc.co.uk/index.php?name=PNphpBB2&file=printview&t=9240&start=0 Regards Gary.
  14. Said good bye to my Mum at short heath church was a social club right next door where i met my first love,I was also confirmed at that church by the bishop of Lichfield, anything to get a glass of red wine on a sunday at 14 years of age!!! :-) My dad moved us there from Palfrey in 1968 so that we could enjoy the woods, we lived in woodside way, spent so many hours in those woods, scouting and fishing, often skipped school to go fishing, only had a gat gun then so hunting was out of the question. Very small world, have friend in Cheshire who is a farmer could have 1000's of acres shooting up there but live in the south east so too far for a day trip!! Thanks for the info, met an American in Italy years ago when we were testing a nuclear power station, he was telling me all about the animals he had shot with his high power rifles, he then added that he had changed his weapon to a ************************ camera and was much happier. strange, small world, say hello to your mum, ( a fellow church mate ) for me, though I dont go now. ATB mate thanks for the info Sincere Regards Gary.
  15. Second to none photography if you are not doing it as a profession then change course, at the very least submit them to a few publications, ATB regards Gary.
  16. Look on the boxes and see the actual percentage of fish in the frozen one's. I catch or buy fresh from fish monger and batter or bread crumb, (panko) them, can't beat it,I am lucky though live 2 mins from the sea. ATB.
  17. Often taken to cannock chase when I was a nipper and lived in short heath and walsall. Fantastic detail, could you share your set up please, f settings/ shutter speed, make/lense etc. Regards Gary.
  18. I am just doing up my zx9r to sell after being ill for 9 years, having been out on the roads and seen the state of them I think I will call it time. I passed my test when I was 17 on a honda 125, I then worked for a Honda dealer until moving into offshore work, I was one of the 1st mechanics to attend the course on the then new Honda Goldwing. I enjoyed every minute of my riding, going through France, Belgium etc. We still enjoy getting on the 250cc scooters when we go to Cyprus, there's nothing quite like it. When I attended the Honda training in chiswick in 1976, we were told that after the USA made it compulsory for motorcycles to have lights on at all times, serious accidents/fatalities were down 65%, from that day I have never ridden a bike without lights on in the day. Take your time, learn at your pace, lots of common sense, never stretch your abilities,if in the future you want to race save up and have a track day, don't get drawn into road racing. At junctions always try and make eye contact with the car drivers, (not as daft as it sounds) you will see what I mean, on fast roads where you are waiting to turn right keep a constant check in your mirrors for idiots coming up behind you, you should be taught "the life saver" use it all the time, even when driving a car, lastly as others have said most car drivers are idiots when it comes to looking out for bikes and remember when a vehicle is approaching you and it has its indicator lights on it is only showing you one thing:- " THAT THE BULBS WORKING", never commit if unsure. Good luck in you new venture, stay safe, happy riding. Kind Regards Gary.
  19. Here you go Nicholiath :- http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Mini-Small-Pocket-Digital-Electronic-Weighing-Scales-Accurate-to-0-01g-grams-/171388389221?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item27e78b4765 Regards Gary.
  20. Having worked for Avery Berkel in the past I would like to say that modern digital scales are very accurate, \i use a small one from e-bay about £ 10.00 for measuring curing chemicals for home curing etc, mine reads to 2 decimal places. A handy scale checker is as follows:- 1p = 3.56 grams ---- 54.937 grains 2p = 7.12 grams -----109.875 grains 5p = 3.25 grams ----- 50.154 grains 10p = 6.5 grams ------- 100.308 grains 20p = 5.00 grams ------ 77.16 grains 50p =8.00 grams -------123.456 grains £1 = 9.5 grams --------- 146.604 grains £2 = 12.00 grams ------- 185.184 grains always check the calibration for your lowest weight to your highest weight that you are using to ensure the scale is linear. 1 gram = 15.432 grains so with a calculator you should be able to see how accurate they are. Kind Regards Gary.
  21. I trust they have bought new pans for the induction hob? Regards Gary.
