  1. I'll look at that, I'll post my findings. Thanks all
  2. I thought that was the case but on chambering a round it is stiff and the bullet is just getting too stuck into the rifling. Longs work fine and so do a few, not all Winnie sub's. Anything longer like eleys just get stuck. And the chamber is clean so not due to fouling
  3. You might have a functioning bodge there. The fwd shoulder of the barrel that meets the action, if shimmed would move everything fwd but would only work if the locking lug still has enough clearance to locate. I'll check later, will tide me over until I next drive near gmk
  4. Problem is the barrel is 2nd hand and its the barrel that's a problem. I'm an ex armourer so not scared to meddle, just wondering how others went about it
  5. Hi all, wondering if anyone has had problems with the above and how they solved it.bought the sako in 17hmr no problems and very slick with better looking build than the 455. Problem lies in the 22 barrel. Very stiff bolt at first until I polished breech face. Now bolt functions fine but have the other problem of ejecting live rounds. Looks like a short chamber as no problems with 22long just lr. And only supersonic RDS and eley subs. I know the problem is that the round is engaging rifling on chambering. Has anyone reamed the lead of the rifling??
  6. FalconFN - what did you use for the view finder? good looking build
  7. The science is quite simple within them but without going into details diverting and cooling the charge gasses is the way it is done. Technically you can make your own, give your FLO the heads up and write it on your ticket.. I have an sm11 on my hmr, good performance but can see wear on the ally baffles. Remember longer the barrel the better for silencing
  8. Not got one myself but any photographers tried using a ND filter with it with any success. That and or ir filters. (ND - neutral density not negligent discharge, only filter for that is a boot to the head) would be interesting to try
  9. Had this idea myself but settled with a quad as barrels are easier to find in .22lr. If you go for the cz455 the synthetic american go for 325 in hmr And sportsman have 22lr barrels. Not seen hmr barrels separately or anywhere else. I would seriously think of having two rifles. I just know I will hardly use the hmr but wanted one for corvids and fox
  10. Really pleased with everyones replys as I have just got one in 17hmr synthetic.
  11. I'd find your auto focus settings for the camera and disable. Point the scope and camera at the sky (cloudy preferably) and focus on the reticule. Don't forget the dioptre on the scope to change the sight picture. And use parallax to focus target to reticule. If you change the mag on the scope not the camera it should stay sweet. That's how I go about setting up my nv. Hope this helps.
