  1. Nothing official but the rumour is lack of birds the syndicate shot on Saturday for a bag of 60 birds so I’m assuming they where worried the drives wouldnt refill in 4 days. for what it’s worth I’m not bothered about the bag, I’d rather they let us meet up for one last walk about and hopefully get a couple of shots 🤷‍♂️ Plus I retired a dog at the start of the season and was going to bring him out for a couple of drives so was looking forward to that
  2. Decent syndicate, shoot every other Saturday, average 100 bird days. All part time keepered by the shoot captain and his son. No bird flu issues and have always had a day in the past from what I’ve heard, this is my first year on the shoot. there has been no talk of the shoot folding next season so I’m not sure at all what’s going on with cancelling the beaters day.
  3. Very tempted…only saving grace will be if they offer plenty of access to pigeons etc. if not then there’s always shoots looking for beaters
  4. Just need to vent…. The shoot I beat on has cancelled the beaters day! it just feels like a huge let down, I prioritised this shoot over others during the season, put holidays in at work, juggled childcare all to make sure I made all days apart from 1 and they’ve cancelled our beater day with 2 days notice and no excuse given!
  5. To be fair it’s probably what the gun should be worth! it’s also not much more than I got for it so it seems fair to me
  6. Excellent, slightly dubious as to the effectiveness of 1/4 choke on longer stuff but I’ll just have to see what happens 🫣
  7. Very nice! Only a 2 3/4 chamber… I believe the HP stuff is all 3”? No, it’s the one from Gilsan guns
  8. Despite some advice offered I went with the B25, tried a 425 light weight and a 525 sporter in the shop but they felt too bulky, I could have gotten away with the 525 if it weren’t for the extra weight though. but I’ll use this b25 as long as we’re allowed lead and then it should be good for standard steel with 1/4 choke in both barrels.
  9. Nothings wrong with it, I just can’t shoot it! just one of those guns I haven’t clicked with despite persevering. it’s lovely to look at and handle and other people shoot it well but for me it’s a waste sitting in the cabinet As above mate, It’s a lovely gun but I just haven’t clicked with it.
  10. I’m still looking to replace my zoli 20b and in my expected budget I can pick up a grade 1 of the B325/425/525 guns or an older B25. what would you guys go for? machine made reliability of the Japanese guns or the hand built quality of the Belgian guns? thanks
  11. Off the top of my head it’s 14.5” But I will measure it when I get home to make sure
  12. Durham in the northeast but happy to travel a reasonable distance or RFD
  13. Zoli Columbus 20 bore colour hardened action 32” barrels 5 chokes factory hard case with combination locks immaculate condition £950 Ono absolute bargain, a similar spec “B” brand gun would be knocking on £2000
  14. I’ve tried most boot brands as a stalker in Scotland and the only ones that lasted more than 6 months was altberg. I’d never have a pair of anything else these days!

    Cz452 stock

I’m after a standard stock for a cz452, mine currently has the hogs back style but I’d like either the straight comb or Monte Carlo cheek piece. thanks
  16. But it’s not “steel proofed” it’s nitro proofed like the majority of guns and can shoot any lead or standard steel loads (using correct chokes) as can any of the other nitro proofed guns. A “steel” proofed gun as mentioned by others has the fluer de lyse markings and can shoot the high performance steel loads. all that email has told you is that your gun underwent a proofing procedure as required by UK law to allow it to be sold.
  17. Straight hand stock, short barrels, double trigger and open chokes… total opppsite of what’s in fashion at the moment. but exactly what I like in a gun haha
  18. Funny you should mention that as there’s a tasty little chapuis local to me for £500 that I’m very tempted by if I can get rid of this stupid thing! a 27.5” double trigger straight hand stock side plate with some lovely engraving and fairly good wood. I hope it’s still there when I get a chance to drive down at the weekend for a look
  19. I paid £1800 for this last august and can’t even get near £1000 for it now, it’s crazy
  20. It’s a lovely gun but I can’t hit a barn door with it! I think the barrels are too long for me at 32”, I usually shoot side by sides but I was trying to future proof against the lead ban but should have got a 28” 20 bore instead
  21. Well you learn something every day, it still looks good though and a solid buy at £300 🤷‍♂️
  22. Would you really class it as an entry level gun? When they first came out the RRP was £4200….
