  1. I find that we get quite a few finches throughout the summer but only on the nyger seed feeder.Sparrows galore on the wild bird seed.
  2. Carried mine around last weekend. It was in a slip and no-one batted an eyelid. As invisiblescarecrow said never leave it in the car.
  3. Those were well shot indeed.I started clay shooting with the same model of gun.Nothing wrong with them at all. Great to have another newcomer to the sport.
  4. I was with the family today at the Lancashire game and country fair when I came across the forest of bowland moorland keepers stand. The 2 lads that were there were immaculately turned out in tweeds. My 8 year old grandson was very curious and they took their time to explain the exhibits. They had a great display and it really was eye-catching.We discussed various topics one being united utilities, grouse brood numbers and what surprised me was the amount of predation they get from gulls. They take large numbers of leverets as well as grouse chick's. Living on the coast we are used to them. But they were telling me of the large numbers that raid the moors. The lads were a credit to the profession.
  5. Not liking the backdrop and the way in which they stand up to present the show.
  6. Yes the 7.62 slr was a very capable rifle.
  7. I usually carry mine round In it's slip as do a lot of others.
  8. That is why I don't get them on subscription just pick one up now and again.
  9. It would be a real bonus if they could get supermarkets to stock them now most of the newsagents have gone. I know subscriptions are popular but I just like to pick up a copy now and again.
  10. That's how I used to do ours. But ours were only in sand so it was easy. There were a lot and they weighed in nicely. As did the .22 rf brass All went back into the club
  11. How did you get on foxshooter69
  12. You will be surprised what a well placed .410 shot will do.I used one to good effect on the rabbits for a golf course that was having problems with the numbers of them digging up the greens.
  13. Does the right hand hammer need to be cooked allowing the top lever to go more to the right.Although the rear bite is free could there be something else retaining it.
  14. We paid when we turned up.We aren't members It was really good.
  15. My son and I visited the above club on saddleworth moor today we shot in absolutely biblical rain. But what a great set up.Very friendly and welcoming.A fantastic little shoot in every way.
  16. I'm with the NGO been with them for years.Cover is included with membership.
  17. I remember them used to push in the bottom of the can a fair bit.i think they were made by Turner Richards. You pulled a spring loaded handle down and let it go to fire it.
  18. Some have the barley in but the dryers are going flat out
  19. I Would personally clean the mechanism thoroughly then check for any burrs, cracks etc.A visit to a gunsmith would get you sorted but first clean everything then apply minimal oil to pivots, slides and moving parts then re assemble.with an empty gun pull the trigger, don't touch anything give the butt plate a good wack and see if it's moved over to the next barrel.
  20. Think you might get more answers/advice in a different topic.
