  1. Armed forces gives you no exclusions but certainly stops FEO's from asking to many questions. It's taken that you are trained and reasonably safe, although plenty numbskulls in the military are unsafe.
  2. This thread needs pictures
  3. Nope, maybe some super secret section somewhere do, but not regular firearms officers. Single shot, full auto has pretty limited uses theses days outside the old Afghan Army room clearing drills. Chat to the next Armed Police you meet, most are pretty amenable to chat about guns.
  4. Police are not trusted with full auto's, single shot only
  5. Yeah sounds like a sensible plan. Luckily I have my SGC with me. I will let you know what time I will be there on friday morning if thats ok.
  6. That would work for me, cannot give you an exact time as it depends on what time I can get away on friday. I would imagine I could be there around 2 or 3 pm
  7. Where about in london? I will be travelling to Lincoln from Portsmouth on Friday so happy to meet somewhere convenient.
  8. Sorry it's a little far I have a 5 hr journey to add on another 1.5 hr would be a bit to much. Thanks tho
  9. I would add, that to ensure they do not try to put any restrictions in place, keep your reasons for wanting a SGC and what you plan to do very broad.
  10. What will you be using it for? Where is it being stored? Can I have your Dr's details? Thats about all I got asked. FEO then reminded me the necessity to report lost/stolen/sold/bought shotguns and the time frames. I would suggest that you clue up a little so he has confidence in the fact you won't be shooting irresponsibly but if your new to shooting just tell him that. If you are honest there can be no way that he can hold it against you. In truth he will probably just offer you some advice (hopefully as a shooter himself). All the FEO's I have dealt with have actually been pro shooting and very helpful
  11. Took lincs police 5 months to handle my SGC transfer and I rang them every week religiously. Very nice staff but the time it took was outrageous considering my background checks had already been completed and my shotgun was being stored in a recognised armoury so there was no inspection needed.
  12. If all else fails I would take this if your willing to meet M25 (A1M) area tomorrow afternoon or next Friday
  13. Would have had it for £100, there are ones in better condition for £150 around, granted they are camo.
  14. Any more come up this price I would be interested
  15. Interested in this could pick up Sunday
  16. Just started shooting shotguns, all I have ever done is clays. Shot quite a bit with the Mob but not civilian. Recently moved to the area so I am looking for land to shoot on at the min and any opportunities, but I have been working away a lot so not had much chance to get out. Yourself?
  17. Worthy of note is that the police must have a charge authorised by the CPS, these programs do not show that part where the police are arguing to get a charge through, more often than not these people are charged and put to the legal system. It's that system that lacks the drive to convict or even Persue the charge to court. I don't disagree the police could do this online role, but who is going to do it? Another job needs To be cut elsewhere to achieve it, with budget cuts the police are a toothless tiger these days.
  18. I think opinions like this would change if you, or someone you knew was falsely accused by these non-professional organisations/people. The current legal system stinks, but it has far more safeguards than the alternative. When we allow individuals or organisations to go off on a tangent we risk far more, hence the middle east as we see it today. Care, probably not but a huge amount of your tax money would pay for the subsequent investigation, and to be blunt that money would be better spent actually investigating and convicting these types of people.
  19. Because if we don't they will be hunted down and killed and murder investigations are expensive. That and if we fail to obtain a conviction he may well go on to commit the acts rather than just watch them. It's not a nice thing to have to speak to these people but the old days of damning them on their word are long gone, and in truth that's a good thing, as many have mental illness and far more going on than just the indecent images. What if the person is innocent? The English legal system operates the 'Better 100 guilty men go free, than 1 innocent man wrongly convicted'. In reality mistakes happen. For clarity, I would rather see whole life sentences and even capital punishment (in very limited circumstances) and I certainly do NOT condone such behaviour. Correct, even after he is released. And the IPCC will take years to clear the officers involved.
  20. http://www.lochend-chalets.com Nice country retreat and there is even a cookery school in the grounds.
  21. I would be very interested in this gun. Could pick up on 11th August. Happy to pick up earlier if its any help, and I can promise it a good home.
