👍 Check out pokel salz, from weshenfelder, it has different cures on the packet. I've used it a lot and it makes good bacon. Loin or belly.

    Bacon

Home cured bacon is relatively easy and tastes great, no water when cooking. But go one better and cold smoke it. You can't beat it

Hi derby duck. Hearing aids were free on NHS, not sure if it's age related or not.

    Batteries

I have both private and NHS hearing aids, the private ones are better but the NHS ones aren't too bad. Got them from spec savers, had an appointment hearing tested, was told my hearing wasn't good, walked out with a brand new pair, and a box of free batteries.

  7. Bore gauge. Fit into cylinder or bored hole, adjust to fit diameter, lock knurled top too lock, measure across gauge with appropriate micrometer.
  8. Check out Easy pluck website. I think it's an American site, but seems easy enough to knock up. Will have a go at making one before the seasons start. That should be. Pluck with easy pluck. My mistake 🙁
  9. Have a look at Start rescue.co uk. Recommended by which.
  10. Just take the barrel of by loosening the barrel clamping screw and unscrew the barrel. This is how I clean my nearly one hundred year old greener gp, but mine has a thumb screw release. Never done any harm as the barrel as the barrel has a locating lug.

  17. Check out skellerup quatro wellies. Made in New Zealand on sale at Armoor priced at £115, seem like a good hard wearing boot.
  18. Also checkout Dedito boots, have had a pair for a few years still as good as new. Completely waterproof and warm.
  19. Hi Cenrtepin. Go for the barbour wax they are quite easy to fit as there are no zips to fiddle with, and last a long time. I'm on my second pair but can still use the old ones if needed, have been used for beating in thick cover and brambles over the years, just rewax occasionally should last for a good few years.
  20. Not sure he had a twin brother who lived in Australia. Terry lived in Feltham. He used to be a regular at the game fair often sleeping in the wagbi/basc tent
  21. Totally agree with Wymberly basc members enclosure was the meeting place for old and new friends to catch up, it also had it's own bar. Not as posh as the old bfss but had some good times there usually meeting up with my old mate Terry Harbour with his dogs sadly long gone. Went this year basc stand was quite sparse and a bit boring. Dave
  22. Also tried to order twice, unprimed 20 and unprimed 12 bore cartridges. Once in July 2020 and again in Feb this year, email reply to arrange postage. Not heard a dicky bird since.
  23. Hi all just reading the topic about greener gp's. My wife bought me one in 1977 as a birthday pressie from S R Jefferies in Guilford now long gone, apparently it was found in a barn. I think it cost about £40, it is a take down model has a thumb screw on the lhs of the action to remove the barrel, serial no 1382 with a 26in barrel. it stills shoots well albeit with 2 1/2 in chambers. It has been used for anything from geese to charlie. would it be possible to find the date of build. Many thanks Dave
