  1. Contact Stemplar in private guns he's got one at a bargain £160.00 even with RFD it's still cheap That's if it's still there?
  2. I have a lincoln no.2 with side plates and it has not got the Fluer-de-liss mark for steel proof Niether on barrels or chokes They are a great little bomb proof gun which i use for general all round shooting where you do'nt have to worry about the odd knock
  3. My first gundog was a ess dog He was easy to train as he had a great temperament I used him for rough shooting sitting at peg and trialed him back in the 70/80's and proved the ess could retrieve game or dummies as good as any retriever and often better as he won many cups He lived till 15yrs I have had and still do have ess dogs cannot beat them in my opinion ( may be a biased opinion ) and have just put down a deposit for a new pup, guess what? I also find them easier to transport being a smaller breed than retrievers and easier to lift over high barbed fences even though they're fantastic at jumping over hurdles etc and also good at working out getting under net fenses They'll negociate any obstucle and no rough cover is a problem I keep mine in the back of my house so are always toweled down when wet same at shoots before putting them back into the vehicle I have them with me as much as possible and you and your pup get to know and understand each other Best of luck with whatever you get. I suggest you keep your new pup with you in the house where you can teach him/her basics like sitting .retrieving a tennis ball let him sit and wait a moment before having each meal
  4. The seller is not a PW member so may not have seen these above comments, perhaps someone could contact him through Gun Watch I have to agree that some better photo's may help The flash from a camera can give the wrong image of timber or even bright sunlight shining through a window

  17. My ess pup has just left with his new owner and going to a very good home and not that far from where he was born I would like to thank everyone on PW and the pm's i received And a thanks to Al for giving him a good home and for his donation to my charity which will be the great north air ambulance Thanks to all
  18. That was my fears You just answered them my vet could see that in me at the time that this was not going to sort the problem and was very understanding but only gave me all options open. Perhaps some so called breeders should be brought into line on the ethics of breeding so called working WORKING gundogs
  19. Thanks for that That's why i put this thread in Wanted as i wish for a good home for my pup But if i placed this as free ad i may have attracted the wrong replies Yes he is free to a good home perhaps a donation to a good local charity might be what i am looking for? I am open to all suggestions Thank you to all on PW
  20. Was'nt sure how to address this I placed it in Wanted as i was wanting a good home for my pup I was NOT putting a price on his head?
  21. Soory about that This level of insurance would be north of £40.00 pcm But i explained to the breeder that insurance is for accidents illness etc Not inherent problems ie breeding so who's to say they would've covered this sort of treatment Sorry to go on a bit but but when it comes down to my dogs i get emotional as i have had and trained ESS since the 70's so know them pretty well
