  1. I use RC16 no6 28g and Eley VIP no6 28g Rc are a cracking cartridge VIP's are a good hitting cartridge My local dealer orders my RC's in when he places his order From the two i would opt for the RC
  2. I tried to be polite But you cannot see the ethos of such threads and address the OP As i have said if you have issues then start your own bloody thread and leave this one if you cannot address the original post Perhaps go to the start Read and digest and leave well alone To reiterate Start your own new thread and leave this one alone as it has no resemplance to the original thread . to which i find discourteouse
  3. Have to admit to never seen an eagle in the wild but would like to do so being rare birds On the other hand some clever dimwits thought it a good idea to release goshawks up our way that are not indiguose to this area or country which are taking out indiguose owls and game birds Which was witnessed at the start of a partridge drive where one just swooped in and took a partridge in front of a beater now they want to introduce Liinx into the largest man made forests in europe with the idea that it will control the deer population . What the hell is going through the minds of these idiots You have an over grown killing cat species looking for an easy meal for their brood Sheep and lambs are an easy meal compared to trying to chase done a fit buck through thick dense forest I wonder?
  4. Fox take lamb Fact yes a ewe will defend their lamb/s to the best they can do But charlies have been shot up our way still carrying the fresh killed lamb usualy a twin or triplet that the mother cannot defend against a couple of years back a mate was watching charlie through his thermal pestering a ewe with lambs at foot and remarked on the ewe putting up a good fight defending her offspring But once he had a clear shot dispatched charlie before he took his dinner years ago i used to go around with my now departed father following up on a farmers lost lambs for me to find fox holes littered with dismembered fresh lambs limbs Hasten to say that was the end of that for old charlie once me old man got at them
  5. Like every other post If you have an issue or need advice Then start a thread in the relavant section and PW members will give advice or give their own opinion and experience and views in a democratic way But it is not polite to start going off in tangents on other issues on some one elses OP ATB
  6. As i say start your own thread as your remarks as you have owned up too are not related to the OP on this thread With all due respect
  7. Forgive me here but what is all this to do with the OP Seems to me you have highjacked someone elses thread to put across your own opinions on a one man campain which seems to be jumping between two differing threads Re this above and other threads by you If you are so uptight to save the planet then start your own bloody thread and stop piggy backing on others But don'nt start in this lttle country (and using young influentual school kids either as their teachers did ) that has one of the cleanest industrial industries world wide Start off in China via Japan. India, Brazi,l Mexico, and Southern America then swing by Egypt and have a look at the **** they churn out and dispurse into the air and waterways Then turn on the diesel manufacturers that can make cleaner fuel but refuse too due to profitering Food for thought? Look forward to YOUR OWN thread
  8. Wll she's making things very differcult now with her latest rant Saying that the Manchester bombing was justifiable Obviosly no remorse for the victims and their families Just proves what kind've sick bitch she realy is
  9. He has a long way to go to make that into a quarry
  10. Maybe Stanna can help out with the stairs
  11. Perhaps if it was promoted properly to the general public Organic low fat high protien etc etc They should have one or two of these ponsey chefs that appear on numerous cookery programmes to push this healthy product instead of them showing us how to cook a bloody turkey every christmas or an inemic chicken breast Promoted and packaged with organic and a tractor stamped on, it will sell Shops and super markets will make big profit from a product that they'll buy in relatively cheap
  12. Especialy when you see what she can make with them leather stitching needles No i don'nt want a pellet pouch thanks especialy if it comes fully loaded
  13. So .Any good guns for sale then
  14. Simple It's bacause of bad press reports Antis voicing off about nothing they don'nt understand and think all meat comes in polythene wrappers and milk comes in polythene bottles from the super market These are the people that eat chicken in all unimaginable forms that have been reared in sheds force fed on **** and are slaughtered within 8 weeks and been proven to be unhealthy for human consumption in large amounts In regards to your facts and figures you have listed I would say there are more applications for SGC's now and rising as there are alot of youngsters coming into the sport and especialy female shooters which we try and encourage As regards birds being put down There are many factors to take into consideration One of the main is the demise of the grouse through disease caused with the tick Thus alot of grouse moores closing Thus some put more partridge down to have a grouse drive There's also the demise of the English grey partridge which used to be abundant We have a high volume of predatory birds now that are protected which account for high volumes of loss ( which put a local self employed lad out of business on his shoot ) All due to the RSPB taking the law into there own hands Where a high court judge proved them of malpractice ( but that's another story ) Loss of poults through severe bad wet weather abundance of fox taking birds Desease accounting for huge losses Thus estates have to restock to retain numbers to keep the shoot running and to fulfill the let days Guns on pegs Well in the halsyon days of corporate days Companies would lay on shoot days for their business associates which have long gone In the last decade, i being a working class bloke as are my friends, are able to pick up some good days on various estates all over the N East and Scotland at reasonable prices and youngsters join us And we are all treated the same ( with one exception that we go round the beaters and pickers up with some food and drinks to show our appreciation for what they do as we know full well what they contribute and to see their smiles on their faces ) I have no quarms about shoots having a 500 bird day as you know these are well organised and profesionaly run The estate i go to do 100, 120, 150, 200 bird days and 200 takes some doing and are rare
  15. Second that scully There's no shoot that can predetermin the future market I think stagboy may not know the current system which started at the begining of this last season regarding game dealers Prior to this last season game dealers paid the estates for game birds ie 75p per partridge and around 70p per pheasant But this season the estaes have had to pay the dealers anything from 35p upwards per bird so they are being paid at both ends with the idea that this cost was to be passed on to the gun Thus to get the game into the food chain through an accredited system where estates would be checked out and like other meat would have a traceable background I don'nt mind this as being a beater on the estate i go we could only get the odd brace up to the xmas period by which time there's alot of game hitting the market and the dealer prices were reducing so they did'nt mind us taking more game But this season we were told to take what we wanted from day one Which meant i could fill my freezer and my mates freezers and supply a lot of my neighbours with lovely organic meat and still had others wanting birds and this applied to all beaters and pickers up Therefore all game shot on this estate went for human cosumption and all birds we shot on beaters days were being processed and handed out to all the tenants on the estate
  16. I've dealt with Malmo in the past Bought 3 guns and 5000 cartridges from them and great to deal with and they're 120 odd mile from me For a few added miles i would recomend you pay them a visit

  18. Totaly agree I wonder if on returning home that night Their parents sugested they all go to bed at 6pm with TV , computers , lights mobiles and heating switched off Then told to walk to school and back Would such kids be happy that they're helping save the planet I doubt it That day out would be the most exerise most of them has done for a long time
  19. I was only refering to the 2:1 ratio not to you personaly Pleased you enjoyed that shoot as we all did and are planning to go back next season ATB
  20. Have to agree figgy I think it's a bit too far both in style and price Too much gold for me personaly But maybe it is all part of their strategy allowing for the fiasco with EU By the time these guns come to market the £ might be worth half it's value Hence their price Be interesting to see how many of these fly off the shelf as it's a big hike up from the likes of the Apex , Forum or Invictus
  21. I would like to meet these experts that can shoot 2 :i on live driven days Load of bull manure I have been in a position on shoots where have been told that such and such are in the top 10 on game shoots and these so called top guns cannot shoot at a ratio of 2:1 over a full driven day Fact Not on the estate i beat and pick up on I have never come across any gun that can compete with this ratio and i have seen some crack shots that have the funds to do it all season But none that can do 2:1 ratio on a full day But there again it depends on the eastate shoot and how demanding the birds are as some are pretty mediocre in terms of challenging Twice this last season on two shoots i was on 100% had i gone home on the third drive But by the end of the day was no where near 2:1 ratio We were on a shoot up in Scotland and had a great day and had our quota But the head keeper gave us a chance on his prestiges drive where we were imformed that the ratio was 30:1 and we soon realised why. But we were all happy with what we achieved I managed 3 for 20 shots and would defy any gun doing 2:1 ratio on that drive
