    Bent Pellets

Having had a bit of a Google I think I'm going to invest in one of those pellet keeper tins.
  2. Is this a steel or aluminium action?

    Bent Pellets

@Newbie to this I've kept the pellets and the tin with the rest of them in in my gun slip pocket and been chucking it around so its no wonder, thinking about it, that a (large) number got bent. I didn't realise quite how soft they are till I squashed one between my fingers.

Thanks for your quick responses both of you. I'll be alot more careful about they way I handle pellets in future. Been having random fliers recently, and I mean bad fliers. More pellet care needed. Thank goodness I'm only shooting tin chickens.

    Bent Pellets

Any of you wise folk got any tips on keeping pellets pellet shaped? Never bothered before but as I've a comp tomorrow I thought I'd have a look. Maybe I just had a bad tin but a full half of those in my Wilkins pellet pouch had bent skirts. I have another tin, same batch, with one or two in the top of the tin looking iffy, but most look pristine. Suggestions please. They are AA Diabolo Field, BTW.
  6. Beat me to it, what they said, every little helps. Make an offer and split the difference
  7. Try loads, the right one will feel right. If it looks right too thats a bonus. If the Browning fits rather than the Beretta have a look at a 325 or early 425. You'll get much "prettier" gun for your money are some say they are better made than the later 525. Oh, and if you find a Caesar Guerini give that a try too.
  8. Was thinking the same @Ultrastu, bet there's more than 1 up the spout. Gentle drill in a hand chuck if you can see the pellet then tap the remains back out the way in went in.
  9. Have to disagree about the damsons, at least down in darkest east sussex. The missus popped out on Saturday, and after addressing her wardrobe malfunction, collect about a stone of damsons in a couple of hours just off of low hanging branches with loads left on higher up out of reach.
  10. Nice one Buze, sounds like a good day out.
  11. They're a superb gun, I have a black variant and it's a keeper and my go to clay gun. Recommend a try out if anyone is interested. Good luck with the sale.
  12. Thanks for that info, he's very local.
  13. My ideal collection would never be completed, I have most of what I need. What I want however.... Something from those nice Accuracy International chaps would find a home ?
  14. Pets 4 homes (without the gaps) have an adoption section. It's where we got our Patterdale from, but you may have to travel for the right dog.
  15. Looking at the 1st post, if your just shooting 10 or so shots a day buy a 7ltr bottle it'll last ages. I shoot a comp most weekends and bought a tank in April. I haven't had to refill it yet. Here you go clever people, how long will a 7ltr tank last at 10 shots a day, every day. Cylinder capacity being 200cc, fill to 180psi and refill at 120? Gun is a 177. Other parameters necessary to the calculation I will leave to the mathematicians.
  16. Interview Monday, on the mat Sat, renewal and grant.
  17. It would be wasted with me, already too many toys.
  18. Can't believe no one has picked this up yet. Lovely walnut stock, classic british air rifle, just waiting for the right person to breath new life into it. (nearly said "her" but decided I was getting carried away). It'll be a gem after a great project. Go ooooooon.

    In Transit

There is a bit of a fashion for this amongst some HFTers which I'm pretty sure didn't help my scope woes earlier in the year. It's something I make a point of not doing now.

I will hold up my hand to being cack handed and short of a few brain cells occasionally, as I have clonked the gun slip and knocked the barrel off true. Accidents happen. ?
  21. Thanks for that. Mine, top of page 8, are a bit of a sludgey brown colour and worn where the hand has gripped.
  22. I do think that's one of the best looking stocks I've seen. Simply stunning. Do you have a link to, or can you detail the, method used to get that excellent result on your barrels?
