  1. Tyres - are one of the most important items, car summer tyres or similar will be useless, I have seen and towed quite a few Range Rovers and similar out of fields or muddy tracks when shod with the wrong tyres. You need to consider all terrain tyres or at least tyres with a more chunky tread pattern. On my AWD I use Michelin Cross Climate SUV tyres which are rated for light off road use, not been stuck yet !!!
  2. Country Ways Gun Shop did a number of videos on Miroku and Browning products that might help https://www.youtube.com/@CountrywayGunshop1/playlists
  3. I remember doing the same at Dagenham and my father left school at 14 and had to work in an abattoir killing cattle with a static bolt gun. Then on to butchering them. We went camping with school and cubs/scouts, learnt to hunt rabbits, shoot and fish. Then clean prepare and cook our own food. and so much more!
  4. world wide customer base I guess, but when you add in products from Browning, Miroku, Blaser, Winchester, Zoli etc etc etc there must be a lot of guns made each year

    Advert

just an advert for a piano for me 🤔
  6. awesome, thanks for posting, made we want another Defender 🤭
  7. I bought a couple of screws from Beretta Europe and the package was opened by UK Border people and then sent on to me. I was pre warned and no issues
  8. If you want good security and a simple laptop and don't do heavyweight spreadsheets, photoshop, gaming etc then i'd suggest you look at a Chromebook. I'm ex IT and for everyday use, streaming, browsing, etc you'll should get a better Chromebook laptop than a Microsoft Windows laptop or Apple. Hope this helps
  9. Thanks for all the advice, out at the moment, i'll have another look tomorrow
  10. I have managed to buy a mint condition 692 which has a dry slightly rough feel to the wood. The gun was in storage for the last 6 years and looks like it has just left the factory, not a mark on it or the case/accessories. I was wondering whether it needs a feed and if so what is the finish on it? Appreciate your help, thanks
  11. Plastic really does make the barrels dirty IMHO, mind you I only shoot fibre as virtually everywhere I shoot is only fibre and one choice of cartridge keeps it simple for me
  12. Shot about a 100 fibre through it this morning and when home heavily sprayed with a borrowed can of Phillips bore cleaner. Scrubed and re-scrubed with a bore brush and now 90+% cleaer. I'm shooting Tuesday so I will give it another good soak and scrub. Thanks for all the advice
  13. Not tried the drill but have soaked and bronze brushed it. Shooting tomorrow so will give it a soak and a scrub. Thanks for the Napier advice Eds Red - not heard of that - i'll have a look for it, oh, south coast so miles away but thanks for the offer
  14. I lent my Beretta to a friend who shot a load of plastic wad through it and using just Legia I am having trouble cleaning it. I only shoot fibre and never had a problem with Legia before. Advice welcomed please
  15. I like cooking the same way as you do. Simple local food, and depending on what you feel like add fresh veg, whatever is in season, herbs, tomato, maybe some chilli, stock cubes, seasoning and cook slowly in the bottom oven for ages. Usually leave until the next day before eating so all the flavours infuse. Sometimes with chicken or pork, occasionally beef and sometimes just veg based and then grill meat to add a you wish. Anything left over is frozen and a quick meal for another day or a basis for a pasta dish, spuds or whatever. Wholesome home cooking.
  16. I have the AWD version and I regularly go on farm track and into fields and not been stuck yet even in the gloopy stuff. I put on Michelin Cross Climate SUV tyres - brilliant. Up and down hills I get early 50's, 48 ish if I push it. Longer cruise runs I usually get top 50's and occasional 60 odd. I typically just leave it in Normal mode, occasional Sport if I need to overtake quickly
  17. very different feel, the standard sporter is neutral balance and feels very smooth and easy to shoot. weighs a little under 8 pounds. for me it just flows
  18. have you shot a standard Browning B725 sporter? If not I would suggest it as an option
  19. Forgive me if I aske whether you have depressed the button that locks back the bolt - I think you may find it at the back of the loading port, where the cartridge lift lever hinges? At least it's there on my semi auto.
  20. My favourite is Flahavans Irish Organic Porridge as well. Both for porridge and home made granola.
  21. Agreed, I took my sump off, was quite easy and a new gasket was a lot cheaper than a new sump
  22. Did the same on a car years ago. I drilled out to solid metal, tapped a new thread, M10 if I recall, and then used a cut down bolt with a rubber washer. Sold the car about 3 yrs later, 30k odd miles and about 3 or 4 oil changes later. All good. Might work for you?
