  1. Yeah thats what I was thinking. Shame it's exactly what I need/want and it's the right price £0!
  2. Weve exported a lot of pIgs recently to China after they had to cull 8 million pigs because of ASF (I think is was ASF). As a result we undoubtedly imported a lot of pork to make up for the short fall. And it will have been from Denmark most likely where they don't get privileges such as daylight or fresh air, and it all goes towards altering the flavour and texture of the meat. Some of you more....stately gentlemen will remember pork tasting differently partly because that's how memories work but also because there were more heritage type pigs about - Tamworth, Gloucester Old Spot, Berkshires etc which are a bit slower growing and as a result put down more fat and flavour through the meat. Nowadays they're large white/landrace type pigs which grow big very quickly. It's a similar thing now with lamb and the movement towards eating hogget rather than new season lamb, a lamb can be 10wks old and reach Slaughter weight and that just doesn't covert to a full flavour.
  3. Managed to speak to the bloke who had it before the people who've got it now and he never actually had it running either. It's a lorry back type chiller and they don't know how to run it off the mains. Sounds a bit tricky to me!
  4. I might have the chance at a chiller, it hasn't been running for at least 3 years possibly longer. I have no idea whether it's just a case of plug it in and watch it go or if it'll be more complicated job. Is there any PW superstars who know about how they work and how tricky or expensive it'll be to get sorted?
  5. If they're firearms get them to your RFD this morning and put in storage and if its just shotguns get them to your mates cabinet today. They won't hesitate to take them off you for your own protection!
  6. They reckon if you're going to collect any sort of booze you need 3 bottles of it minimum. 1 to keep, 1 to trade and 1 to drink.
  7. I've got that new gun itch building that starts every so often. What I really want is a 375 hh but 1 I can't afford one, 2 I can't afford the ammo to feed it and 3 I think I'd probably struggle to get it passed for UK use with West mercia. So then I thought maybe I want a 45-70. Maybe a saucy little laminate marlin lever gun. But they're running to £1500. Then I saw a very interesting 300 aac blackout. Bergara ba13 single shot runs to under 500 quid, subsonic ammo is under 30 quid a box and it looks a very handy little thing. Just wondering if anyone has one or has had one and general thoughts on it.
  8. I've never smoked...well apart from once after setting myself on fire but that's a story for another day. I quite like the smell of a cigar and I like the idea of smoking a pipe. If I ever did smoke it would be a pipe or big fat cigars. I often think I'd like to start collecting cigars just for the look of them there's something intriguing about them.
  9. Just a splash of cold water Nev to release the oils in the whiskey which releases the flavours. You shouldn't put ice in a single malt....unless you want to you're drinking it no one else. But I do like ice in a blended whiskey. Just bought a bottle of Shackleton whiskey off amazon for something like £17. It's not fancy or posh but it tastes pretty good and has a nice label and bottle.
  10. Are they dead man's fingers fungus?
  11. Theyre not very user friendly! Plug the batteries in and turn them on. Theres no indicator they're on or working. You'll only know once you check the memory card in a computer. I had one, I've still got it but I never use the bloody thing!
  12. The funny thing is the only people that care about girls riding in races is the media. Maybe when it first came in there was a fuss made by the trainers and other jockeys but nowadays they're just part of the furniture. Go to a point to point at the weekend and you'll see any amount of girls race riding. There wasn't many riding when I was who I'd have told couldn't ride because they were a girl, I quite like my teeth and I might have been a few shirt afterwards! Girls have reached more notoriety on the flat than over fences more quickly because most of the time they can do the lighter weights in the big races where opportunities can be limited - Hollie Doyle for example is only 7st 10lb not that she tells many people! She maintains she's 8st.
  13. There was a kick back against soya being used for animal feed by the coop at the end of last year. What they didn't account for was that a large amount of the soya used in animal feed is by-product from vegan food. After it was pointed to them by a few farmers they quietly dropped the issue!
  14. Ill venture into the garage in a little bit and look up what make and model it is.
  15. All once fired, some will have been tumbled others won't have been. 20 Sako 243 cases 55 Hornady 243 cases 19 Hornady 243 cases PRIMED 17 Winchester 243 cases PRIMED 25 Federal 270 cases 57 Sako 308 cases 15 Sako 308 cases PRIMED 24 PPU 357 mag cases 1 full unopened tub of IMR 4895 2 full unopened boxes of federal Large rifle primers. No idea of value of the empties so let's say 50p a case but open to negotiations especially if you want the lot. Plus p&p. £35 for the powder and £5/box for the primers. The primed cases, primers and powder obviously can't be posted so are collection only. The primed cases will have been neck sized only. Or £120 for the whole lot collected from near Shrewsbury.
  16. I've got a generator in the garage. I very rarely use it although its handy when it comes to pressure washing the cars or jet washing stables where there's no electric. Came to use it the other day and its not kicking out any juice. Not even flicking the gauge to show its making any power. Worse still is I filled it up with fresh petrol before I started trying to use it!!! From what 8 can glean off tinterwebs its likely lost its magnetism because its not been being used. So my question is how hard is it to remagnetise a generator?
  17. They're brilliant machines but very painful even with the safety brake. If the catch a root it can be unpleasant.
  18. As sheep go theyre fairly indestructible. A few years back, possibly the beast from the east I can't remember, a lot of sheep got buried in snow drifts. It took the farmers days to get to them and longer to dig them out. The Herdwicks survived by licking snow and eating lichen and moss off the stone walls they were snowed in beside. So they're one of the toughest sheep going but they're also bred to live up in the lake district and they're not all that respectful of boundaries! Depending where in the southwest you are your mate would be better getting a sheep more suited to his general area. Southdowns for example were bred to live on the south downs. Theyre very tame on the whole and easy sheep to raise.
  19. @fatchapits a bit big to be desk mounted but maybe you could extend your shed 😉
  20. The organisers are probably bordering on breaking terrorism laws same as the hunt sabs. Even packham could be justifiably be tried under trying to insight civil disobedience and hate speech. Christ if they could try old Trump for insighting the sacking of the capitol for not saying "Don't riot" there's surely bags of scope to take down these other scumbags who are actively insighting violence/criminal damage.
  21. He cashed out partially but still stands to win 50k
  22. Today I was Tb testing and only finished feeding my sheep and cade lambs about 20 mins ago and so didn't get to see one race. I like Cheltenham but there's no horses running lately that bring out my inner fan girl like Kauto Star did. I much prefer Aintree and much preferred riding there even though the big fences have lost some of their allure nowadays.
  23. Depends if you've done steps 1-3 right, you might just smack yourself in the nuts with a blunt lump of steel or slice the old chap right off 😂
  24. 88% I got the minimum release time wrong, I got the game cover/bird seed question wrong and one of the Scottish questions wrong. It took me about 10 minutes whilst I was sat on the toilet.
  25. I can back a trailer but am truly awful at knife sharpening.
