  1. Are you sticking with standard size tyres ? I was thinking of sticking the biggest ones on I could without doing any mods in the hope I could gain some ground clearance

Been looking at these Insa Turbo Dakar tyres, seem to get ok reviews as a mud plugging tyre

I put the Insa Rangers (standard size) on my Freelander. Quiet on the road but heavy and I think higher profile than standard as the gearing has altered and acceleration and fuel consumption have suffered. Seem to be ok off road but not really been challenged yet.
  2. You don't there is enough food in your garden for them, slugs, worms etc, it's a myth that you have to put food out for them.

Just enjoy what you have and do not feed everything else.

A small bowl of fresh water is all you need to put out.

Certainly no shortage of slugs. It's probably more about attracting Tiggy to somewhere I can see it to be honest.
  3. think it is reported that so far 6000 man hours have been spent just searching the sides of the route he would have taken.........was he abuducted.......to what end !!

and nobody saw a damn thing....think i would remember someone 6ft tall wearing white trousers and a pink shirt......

    He's probably gone to Wilmslow.....
  4. We have bird feeders out for the small birds, sunflower hearts, suet pellets and peanuts. Were plagued with squirrels so dealt with the problem with .410. Then discovered a hedgehog cleaning up the bits under the feeders so started putting food out; this then attracted foxes (along with the dead squirrels) so stopped putting the food out. Again spotted a hedgehog so started scattering some of the fat pellets at dark. Tonight just spotted a badger cleaning up the hedgehog stuff.

How the hell do you feed a hedgehog?????

  5. Laser printer. I've got a Brother MFC 7320 jobbie I bought when I was teaching abroad. Economical when used with pattern cartridges, fast, quiet and can be left for months without gumming up.

Bit of a monster though, good for home office. Also had smaller lasers without gumming probs.

  6. Just a thought here

What hand do you pull the hammers back with when your Reloded 🤗😊😊

Right thumb, just like the Wild West gunslingers 👍

Call me limp wristed if you will but 8lbs plus of clay gun feels alot more comfortable holding the barrels in the left hand and allowing the stock and action to drop that t'other way round. With the sxs it's not a problem as it's much lighter and doesn't need to break nearly as far.

    Ok, if you insist :-))))
  7. Or is it a more scientific approach to testing?

I don't think anyone would say testing on a pattern plate is codswallop?

This is just pattern testing to see how it looks at different distances - quite simple really but a lot of accurate and consistent testing would have been needed to do it properly.

As I've said before, pattern plates are great for checking poa/poi but are two dimensional. Unless you're shooting a stationary target or something coming directly towards/away from you, even a big hole in a 2d pattern is not as important as it might seem at first glance.
  8. I have been worried silly that my parents are going to fall for one of these tricks. Older people, as smart as they were have NOTHING like the paranoia needed to deal with that stuff -- you were lucky to catch ths one up Glen!

It's one of the reasons we came back to the UK to keep an eye on him following the death of my mother. A tricky balancing act to pick this stuff up without seeming to take control of everything.
  9. Had an email from 'Ann Farrel' this morning.

"Kindly refer to the attached for more details or click here

    Brain

    Teague Uk"

I have bought from Teague but the lack of attachment and odd link (unclicked!!) makes me suspicious. This is copied/pasted, not my spelling!

86 year old father had a phone call from HMRC this afternoon telling him an arrest warrant had been issued in his name and would be actioned if he didn't immediately clear his debt. Luckily he passed the phone to me and I told the HMRC (Bangalore branch) to **** right off and die....
