  1. Gen Z (Zoomers, rather than Boomers) are these days what most people are thinking of when they talk about Millennials. Born from late 90's through the 00's. It looks like its styled to fit video game aesthetics to appeal to a gaming generation, which makes a lot of sense.
  2. Got hit in the face once when my bolt handle snapped after a shot. Wouldn't have happened if I was using a leftie. Otherwise it's never been an issue.
  3. I'd like a .410 semi just for fun, and have found both the Armsan and the Remington 1100 to be rare but the Remington is a fair bit more expensive. Very nice, though! Mossberg have released the SA-410 in the states, but no sign that its coming over here yet.
  4. My GP in St Albans just took £35 from me this morning to complete the form. We are at their mercy, though.
  5. This is my point tho, I can't find anything from anyone saying he was in London and ended up in Manchester - not even from people who would be shouting this sort of stuff from the rooftops. I'm not saying I couldn't find this in the Guardian but the Mail is claiming it, I mean I can't find anything using the first 4 different keyword searches of even the obvious fringe media and organisations that would be talking about it. That doesn't mean that my Google-fu is perfect, but it does surprise me. Then it seems odd to be using it to make any kind of point.
  6. Ignoring the whataboutism here (but seriously, knock it off), do you have a source for him doing this? Three pages deep in to 4 different google searches threw up nothing other than he was admitted to Manchester hospital, unless I'm misreading things. Turning Point UK is not a source anyone should trust, but my searches don't even throw up fringe sites or forums that I'd expect to see in relation to something like this. And those are never usually hard to find.
  7. I had to pay for the GP to confirm my medical reason for not travelling to enable a payout from insurers. I had to do this up front or no dice. Doesn't feel that shooters are especially singled out. Asking for a completed GP report agreeing with your listed medical history is now part of the submission for Herts Police, including a note that we'll have to pay if the GP asks and it's not the responsibility of the police to pay. This appears to be the same in Essex and elsewhere, based on discussions I've had on renewals, meaning the forces are moving to push the cost and admin effort on to us. It's not a surprise that GPs charge for this service as requests for records or Subject Access Requests are baked in their operating model, while this sort of thing clearly isn't considered standard. While we're being held hostage on it, it feels like the person licensing should hold the responsibility here and that this is poorly hanled buck passing in relation to responsibility for checking suitability of license holders.
  8. AGL are 42p going down to 33p with a £195 membership. One of those things! Good to hear a ground opening - AGL are also now open with a raft of measures in place. If I weren't looking after kids I'd be out for a go!
  9. Yes, I believe he was acquitted on the grounds of self defence. The other story was one he has a short and long version for - basically he was out hunting jackrabbits with a friend and some blokes pulled up nearby and started shooting. When they figured out these guys weren't just being reckless they scarpered and never found the culprits.
  10. I have a lot of time for his videos - a breath of fresh air compared to the 30 something blokes with beards telling you that you need a bug out bag, don't need a bug out bag, that a .223 is all you need, that you need more than just a .223, that you should buy one reliable gun, that you should buy 5 guns in case each one fails, and how understanding firefight tactics will get round the fact that most people watching are likely to be untrained and unfit with a fetish for tactical vests. His recent take down of a chap who had a go at him was wonderfully executed. While he doesn't have videos of shooting prison toilets or slicing the pie I think he has a lot to offer in actual information rather than just opinions.
  11. Just what you'd expect a pawn of big chemtrails to say!
  12. Lots of talk about "only the old dying", but what is the impact on people who have serious symptoms and survive? It reminds me of anti-vax "evidence" that only uses a death rate as a binary indicator of proof, leaving out lasting damage done to survivors. I'm a fit and healthy 34 year old and you wouldn't know by looking at me that I have a condition that could mean catching it kills me or seriously reduces my long term health. There will be other people like that out there that we're "burning the economy" for and they can hear you talking...
  13. Oh god, more reason for people to change chokes between stands. And for about the price of a couple of second hand Hatsans. Love the idea. I'm sure I've seen something similar before tho - possibly on Forgotten Weapons on something unique or unusual?
  14. /Tinfoil hat on The Lefties did it! /Tinfoil hat off
  15. Isn't that how you treat trolls? Cut them down and don't let what they've said echo to minimise their impact. This is a good point that is missed by too many on the left and the right. People root for teams, regardless of what that means. As a leftie I've been told off for laughing at the "Labour bad, Conservative good" spiel from family. I tend to approach things from a "everyone sucks, lets find the good amongst the pile" using my political views\lens, which gets spun as being a Labour supporting (regardless of what I think of them) brainwashed under 50 who doesn't have the life experience to know better. I'm not a Boris fan, but anyone wishing ill on him is a massive spanner and its profoundly unprofessional to do so if you're in politics.
  16. It's validation thing. People are missing something in themselves and feel big and better for being "smart" enough to have "figured it out". I always jokingly called people like that the "Knowerati", as they were part of the elite that had figured out, by reading any old **** from Google, what the Illuminati were up to. Advice on preparing and staying safe at the moment is welcome, but I just don't know what to do with the stuff people send me pointing out how we're being scammed. How does knowing the lizard people are sending supplies to the moon change the fact that I don't want to catch it?

Paul Harrell - dry but very informative and interesting.
  18. AGL are open but have pushed back their member shoot which was scheduled for tomorrow. No food and the lodge is shut, don't congregate to close around the ground etc.. Seems they're doing a pre-pay phone in service where you can request a number of clays, and carts if needed, and show your license on arrival to receive the Promatic card to use without going in the shop. If I wasn't considered at risk I'd probably go for the fresh air.
  19. Sounds like you're after a Mossberg 395? I've not seen the later 585/595s in the UK, possibly due to the detachable mag issue around Section 1/2. Don't know if the 385's show up either. I've seen a few, but not many, floating about. I don't recall seeing one that didn't have the magazine welded in place. I've seen more on GunStar than on GunTrader and it looks as if the one I have is the only one that's ever shown up here, although it did sell here twice. The .410 183 model seems to be more common. You might try Mr Bosher to see if lightning strikes twice. My experience is somewhat limited - I go out and bash clays with it occasionally but own it mostly as its interesting and pretty. Its small, and swapping to it from a semi auto makes it feel like a child's toy. For me the comb is a little low. As its light and small, punchy loads...punch a little. It has the C-lect choke - same as on the 500/600 pumps which works well enough. The sights give it away for what I assume is more of a hunting design - the front bead is paired with a rear "U" which can be weird when going from a rib and front bead. Mine had a burr which made cycling more than one shot more or less impossible but having sorted it the action is easy and smooth with a little Frog Lube. Loading requires you to feed two in and cover the brass with the bolt, before loading in to the chamber but its something that comes natural after a few goes. Cleaning is simple enough and I don't find the welded mag to get in the way of anything. The biggest problem I've found is that you can't get parts in the UK - there's a US company that make everything you might need but won't ship due to ITAR. I need a safety bar but can't get one as it counts as a firearm part for import/export purposes. The best bit about it is racking the bolt and having the spent cartridge go flying, regardless of if you hit anything.
  20. That's the one! I'd found it online and knew he'd buy it the moment I showed him at the show. He eventually caved a couple of hours later. He spent the last two days sorting out the chokes (only one would go in all barrels, the others only fit one barrel) and cleaning the fore end which had a couple of cracks so I think there were a few niggles that were reflected in the price. He loves it though - I think its something that works better in .410 than anything larger.
  21. Akkar Triple Crown? Tri barrel in 12g, 20g, 28g, or 410. My dad picked one up at the shooting show Or the UGB25 as said, I'd love one as they're nicely odd. Cosmi is a little pricey...
  22. John Knibbs has a large selection. If you can't find what you need then Edgar Brothers are the importer, drop them a line to find out the part number and your RFD will order for you through them.
