  1. +1 for Chris Potters. Very quick postage when I ordered a briley choke from them.
  2. Thank you Richard for being such a gentlemen and saving me from an extra 132 miles to my journey. Very good of you to meet me at King's Lynn. Couldn't be happier with the gun. Many thanks again, Chris.
  3. Couldn't be happier with my Franchi Affinity. Never missed a beat and a doddle to clean. Use it for rough/pigeon shooting mostly but have took it to the clay grounds and it cycled 21g carts absolutely no problem. Great gun and from a (new) price point not much else can touch it.
  4. I'm in Sheffield henry_o. Thanks, Chris
  5. Hello, Just wondered if there were any opportunities for pigeon shooting or to be involved beating for a shoot etc. around the South Yorkshire area or surrounding areas? I know it's very rare that such opportunities arise and am in the process of draughting a letter and business cards to try my luck driving around farms but thought I would ask on here too. Clay shoot most weekends and have had a couple of outings on the pigeons early last year. Have all the equipment and am a full member of Basc. Best wishes, Chris
  6. Keep an eye out on here, gumtree, preloved, eBay etc. for one. An ad in the wanted section on here might throw one up too I'm at pinewood most Saturday's in case you ever fancy a trip over there too. Chris.
  7. Hi Ian, Better to have it in the house if you can. Safer and less fluctuation in temperature/moisture, will wreak havoc with your guns if there's moisture or damp. Have read mixed reviews about the GDK cabinets, but don't have one so can't comment properly about them. Have a look for a second hand brattonsound cabinet for sale, can be picked up for £80-120 no problem and there a quality cabinet. All the best, Chris
  8. A very interesting thread to read through. Primary school teacher for children with severe learning difficulties.
  9. No, you're right. I had read about being wary of that problem. I used plenty of resin to hopefully seal the thermalite blocks completely and then added some expanding foam around the threaded bar. All seems well a year and a half later, always have a few silicon sachets in the bottom of the cabinet just in case, not actually sure if they would help at all anyway.
  10. Same problem here. I ended up drilling though the plasterboard, through cavity and thermalite blocks and into outside brick. Used 14mm threaded bar and epoxy resin to secure them into the wall then bolted the cabinet on. Tried my damndest to get it to budge once it had all set but isn't budging an inch and Feo was plenty happy with it. Had read about the expanding bolts either not reaching through the cavity or busting the thermalite blocks that's why I went down the resin route
  11. A slab of clear pigeon 32's and a Jack Pyke face veil for me today.
  12. Cheers everyone hopefully might bump into a few of you around the clay grounds. No not tried Sycamore yet but will definetely be keen to try new grounds once I've got the hang of things, we're back at Pinewood on the 11th for a lesson with Alan.
  13. Having gained a great deal of information and enjoyment from reading the various posts on here since I joined I thought it only right I finally say hello. Me and the other half have recently started shooting clays at Pinewood, great ground and Alan there has been brilliant. Been shooting since I was 12 with my Dad when we were members of Birdwell Gun club but when that sadly shut we sold up. Decided to get back into shooting again and got my SGC late last year after having a go at clays and a couple of days on pigeons and falling in love again. Broke my collarbone a couple of months after getting my cert (couldn't have timed it worse) so only recently started shooting again. Other half is very much new to shooting but really enjoying getting to grips with it. Anyway, hope I've not bored you all to tears and thanks again for the great knowledge that's on offer on this forum. Cheers 👍🏻
