  1. Wrong breed! Hope it all works out well
  2. Was working on a house last week and the company do the log burner install charge £800. Even the hetas bloke said it was a rip off and a piece of cake to do, not that I'm suggesting you do your own without getting it checked.
  3. Just tell them what you really think and put a colleagues name on it. If he's still there after a month they A; appreciated it or B; threw them all in the bin
  4. Could of worded that a little better
  5. http://www.hafele.co.uk/shop/c/wood-care-and-repair/wood-repair-waxes-and-fillers/9957
  6. Exactly the same with me, if you can't have a laugh at work it's not worth going. There's a big difference between pulling someone's leg and bullying someone. With me it works both ways. And for mungler, I use a Henry. They take loads of abuse and keep sucking, just wish my missus was like it.
  7. Had a word with the builder on the job seemed very honest, said it wasn't great but he does get about 30% of his work from it. Said it's a pain in the bum at times but doesn't want to give it up as he says it works when he's quite. The only problem is he's already the builder and the guy I'm working with has said I can't go in as a multi trade as I'm doing the group out of seats. I've said I'm interested in having a look as a kitchen and bathroom supplier/ fitter as I'll be able pick up other work from that. If they're not happy with that then I guess it's not for me and if it's a waste of time I'll not be investing. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. If it's rubbish atleast I'll get a couple of free breakfasts from the experience. Russ
  8. So when you say you have to put a lot of work into it what do you mean?. They told me they meet once a week or it could of been a month, have a breakfast and promote each other?. Is this how it works?. PM me if you like. Russ
  9. Yeah Richie it's BNI. Out of interest what do you charge to design a logo?
  10. Funny thing is the job I'm on the guy who im working for is a graphic designer and web designer he's part of it and he's had a builder there opening up a chimney who's also in it and reckons he gets a load of work from it. The only thing is they only allow one member to be from anyone back ground so I couldn't join as a general builder and they want me to join as a joiner which is my trade up I'm fed up with it. The three I've met so far are all in there forties, a builder, a graphic designer and an insurance loss adjuster It sounds to good to be true!
  11. Today I've been invited to join a "network group" consisting of about 20 people of all professions all meeting up once a week to try and promote each other's business and generate more business. There's a subscription fee a annual fee and a monthly fee. What I was wondering is if anyone else does a similar thing and does it work?. It sounds great but all good salesmen make their product sound good, do you think it's legit or a con? Russ
  12. Really hope things are turning around for you and your wife, stay positive. Russ
  13. Saw a really good artificial lawn in Scotland we were all stood ages trying to decide if it was or not.
  14. Anyone got one?. The dragon came home from work with a 14 week puppy yesterday, allegedly she was given her KC papers the lot. I know nothing about the breed so if anyone can tell me what they're like I'd be grateful. On the plus side I can get another cocker when the opportunity arises. Russ
  15. That'll teach me to read the whole post. Just read it again, fed from the combi boiler.
  16. Morphine knocks the hell out of you I can remember waking up and carrying on a conversation I thought I was having with the bloke in the next bed, he was oblivious. Glad you're ok
  17. Why electric? Have you not considered other showers?
  18. So is sex education in primary schools ok as long as they don't learn about same sex relationships?
  19. How he explained it to me it wasnt as black and white as that, and it made sense to me the way he explained it. I'm not saying he's right and I'm not saying you're wrong but if you can give me some evidence supporting it's in the genes I'll take that on board. I'm sorry I took your post the wrong way. Russ
  20. No but I think there's a possibility you're out for an argument.sorry to disappoint you but that's not for me.
  21. I was working up in Alexandria just before Xmas and the brickies were getting very good rates, you've got some strange ways of doing things up there but met some friendly people and enjoyed learning some different techniques.
  22. Forgetting trade prices you're looking at between £10k and £12k if you work it out by the square meter and add a build cost into it depending on your finish.
  23. Haven't got any outside storage so ALL my tools are in the loft, as soon as I get time I'm building a large secure shed as its a massive hassle especially as I'm constantly doing different trades.
