It is wrong to assume that 6 rooms automatically = 6 radiators. It all depends on the heat loss calculations. The cheapest option is to fit a new combi in situ always assuming it is a like for like installation. Plus the flue considerations my make a loft installation impossible particularly with today's condensing boilers and there has to be access to the point of installation balancing on joists is a no no. Rules say the installer has to have safe path to the site of installation you do not want him falling onto the room below. I would also suggest after the new installation you take out a service contract. Brit Gas schemes take some beating. Also regards buying the boiler many merchants will not supply (correctly in my opinion) a gas appliance to someone who is not 'Gas Safe' registered. although the multiple retailers probably will. With regard to size If 24 kw (81800 btu) has worked stay with that as I said it all depends on heat loss calculations.....good luck

When I began in the heating industry so many years ago at the very start of the 'combi' age an old heating installer told me the best system for hot water supply is a stored hot water supply, It would seem from what you say that may be your best answer. As far as the shower is concerned why not install an electric independent power shower? Combi boilers? another European idea and I wouldn't give 'em house room (no pun intended) Maybe an oil fired system boiler with an unvented cylinder which requires no cold water storage or flow and expansion tank and works on mains pressure with normally a 20 mm cold water supply .just one cylinder can supply hot water to (depending on the cylinder) as many 'draw off points as required including multi use and will supply hot water for your central heating. Google will point you to loads of unvented cylinders and boilers. Aint going to be a budget job though Remember many 'heating installer's prefer a combi as it is less install time.Stored hot water all the time unless space is really limited. In smaller homes a combi is OK but I would guess not in your case. Be sure though the installer has the correct building regs qualifications to install an unvented cylinder. I get a state benefit (Pension) of £849 per month based on 49 years continuous employment plus my other private pensions take me above the 10K threshold. Since Comrade Brolin (part Brown part Stalin) robbed the private pensions for the benefit of those in the public sector they are not worth as much as I thought they would be but, at least they pay for odd box of ammo and keep the wolf from the door.

Thanks for all the info. None of the Ramsbottoms 'phone numbers are now 'live' and I now understand if you do not have a Pay Pal account getting money back from an e bay return is a nightmare. After much and many e mails to Pay Pal and e bay head offices and 'phone calls (at least they are free 0800) Pay Pal tell me my refund has been "authorized". We shall see? Not really depends how they are used. We shoot all the previous 'handgun' courses of fire such as PP1. Service pistol, 1500 PPC using the various .22LBPs and with some that included holsters. (1500 PPC and derivatives, practical pistol, Bianchi) So no they are in no way "cumbersome"
