  1. actually I think you'd be suprised paramedics are not on that great money but yes you are right we are not struggling but I pay for swimming lessons for my children which are surprisingly expensive but I think one of the most important things to learn especially as we live in a village surrounded by two rivers and three lakes and neither of us drive a flash car (vectra and focus) one is 9 years old and one is 10 years old the problem is the nights I'm out all night and asleep all day in the week so I'm not there and it's affecting my marriage and I'm missing out on seeing my kids yes the money is good but working 12 hour nights and driving nearly an hour each way takes a lot out of you and I've already fallen asleep at the wheel on the motorway and crashed into the central barrier which was not fun at all. The money sounds a lot but where I live it doesn't go very far at all after the mortgage and diesel for work. So we do ok but are by no means we'll off
  2. I have no debts other than the mortgage. I don't own a flash car it's a 2007 vectra that I have crashed I'm looking to get a tucson soon but that is going to be free/very very cheap I'm not one to keep up with the jones's until the vectra I've always had old bangers just want to provide for the wife and kids. But on balance 30k a year and saving a load of money on diesel driving to work hopefully I won't be any worse off or ill just do a bit of overtime to make it up.
  3. I think you are all right and I'm of the same opinion now. I just worry about money as I'm the main wage earner in the house and I never want to be in the position I was in a few years ago when we first got married and didn't have a pot to **** in but she said she doesn't mind me working g weekends aswell to make the money up as long as I'm home in the evenings. So that's settled my mind then. Thanks guys
  4. I am an electrician i currently work monday to thursday nights on a site for 35-40k per year i have a wife and two young girls my wife work part time as a paramedic so I cover the majority of the bills however my wife and I are tired of my shift work. I have one maybe two interviews lined up for day jobs one is similar money and static and one is 30k but I get a van so travel is free. So all that out the way how do you go about deciding what to do for the best I'd like to be home in the evenings cuddled up to my daughters but at the moment the bills are covered nicely and I don't have to work weekends for extra money however I am missing out so I am at a loss as to what to do any advice or personal experience is very welcome Thanks
  5. Sounds a bit of 50/50 initially HOWEVER once he had gotten out of his car he is the one who escalated the situation and really should have backed off once he realised it was a woman and especially a pregnant one at that. If I were in your shoes and it was me wife I'd want to kidnap him and rape him lol because all reason goes out the window when it's your family however the best thing to do to screw him up would be to try and lose the a hole his job

Please can someone recommend me a laptop for say 300. Or tell me what to look for when buying one. Cheers
  11. They are all more expensive than a standard 4x4 so it's hard for the average man like me who is not willing to get into that much debt over a car
  12. thanks it has a 5 speed box and the newer ones have a 6 speed and about 30 more bhp so that's probably it. This has been very well cared for by my grandad and has just towed his caravan and and down the a1 so has very little miles on. What I'm after is how it will fare with me and my children and two dogs abusing it (mostly me) as I do a lot of motorway miles to work and a bit of off roading. I know it's comfy on the road but are they and good off road I've managed to get a mondeo stuck in mud and slid into a gatepost so I want a better bigger car to take shooting and fishing
  13. May be getting one of these 2.0 cdx diesel anyone know much about them. It's been owned by my family since new
  14. Oh I agree I always make my own food I often don't even take my wallet to work unless I need to fill my car up but I wanted suggestions from people not people saying make your own food instead of buying it

  16. Tissot prs200 looks really nice. I know absolutely nothing about watches though
  17. Forget being ripped off what about these people getting hold of firearms which is obviously why they are doing it then a weapon potentially still registered to you is used in a robbery or worse. Or they come to have a look at it and then know your address and come back and take the lot
  18. and how does this work can you access your money if and when you need to or is it more of a long term thing

  20. I'm quite taken with the silver pigeon line. Are the new lincons any good
  21. Hi all I'm a fairly inexperienced shot but am improving on clays and when my dog is trained up am wanting to join Ely wildfowl er club. I will be looking to do some pigeons too in the near future anyway I've got an old Lincon o/u double trigger. I'm thinking of getting a better gun with a single trigger as they are easier to use I can spend up to a grand what do you recommend for a do it all gun
