  1. I have just bought a BSA 1916 SMLE MK 111 Looking at some of the makings, it looks as if it sen service in both world wars and possibly then shipped to S.Africa. But I think it then went for dispersal on the open market. Looks like the barrel was renewed I think in 1957 (57/2310) Stamp Appreciate any help for identifying as much history as I can find. Gun has been stripped and totally clean and fore stock wood has been totally restored by myself keeping a original stamps intact (as the previous owner had varnished it ) & back to original linseed oil finish coating. Can supply Photos if I can mange to upload Any help apprecated
  2. Anyone know of a good screw cutting guy to screw cut a parker hale 1200 in 308 in South Wales area?? Appreciate any leads.
  3. Take a look at the thread I started last week Good comments I have since bought one and it really is the mutts nuts for n/v
  4. Just got mine back from Bridgend it took 7 weeks. Not to bad, could be better though
  5. Got me drone pro 15x time last week Managed to get out and use it tonight. 2 fox one in the dusk and one in the dark. Both at around 13-150 yds (223) This bit of kit is really the mutts nuts could easily see well out to 300 yard with the ir torch that came with it. Need to knock up an external power pack for it though as the 123 batteries last for only 3-4 hours. But what a clear crisp view you get, both day and night, also works as well with red light (just thought I'd see what a normal red led would look like) Glad I took the plunge. Will also have to devise a hood to cover lens if it starts to drizzle as with the filter off there is not a lot of cove from the rain. But excellent bit of kit.
  6. Drone delivered yesterday. Gonna zero it today on range. Let you know how it goes
  7. ************* it have ordered a DRONE pro waiting for for delivery. Credit card has gone into meltdown But one life no rehearsals I will let you know how it pans out. Again many thanks for all the good informative threads on here, hopefully we can all benefit from this Regards Taff
  8. Great information coming through. Looks like some of you guys like the YUKONS & then some like the ATN's How do these really compare with the 5x15 DRONE PRO, as I would have to rob the bank for one of these, but just might be worth it. I watched RIPS260 using the DRONE PRO on youtube and was very impressed by what I saw. Anyone on this forum got a DRONE PRO or have used one. Appreciate any further info that we could all benefit from. Many thanks for the info so far it is great help to all. Taff
  9. Thanks guys the info is great for all of us With the ATN x2 5X20 THIS IS A TOTAL REVAMP OF THE PREVIOUS MODELS Appreciate any feed back off anybody that has recently purchased one of these models. The intention of this thread is to allow all us guys to not waste our hard earned bucks Keep the reviews coming in. Many thank to all Taff
  10. Appreciate all the feed back guys Pulsa is coming out at just under 1500 squids Is it that good??? Currently using home made NV bagged over 30 fox this year, but problem is if you do wing one and you have to chase down to finish it , it is awkward with the add on at the back of the scope, and end up ripping it of and clamping on a torch on if I have to chase them down to Finnish. Don't like winging a fox would rather it be clean kill Cheers
  11. Thanks guys Keep the reviews coming in. It will help me make my mind up and also help other shooters on the forum ,to not waste money. I'll have a look at the drone pro Much appreciated
  12. Hi Guys Not sure if this is the right place to ask. Looking at buying a night vision scope to go on my Howa 223 I have boiled it down to 2 scopes Yukon photon 6.5 X 50 or the new ATN X 5X20 Although ATN is twice the price there about., apparently a lot better in daytime than Yukon Appreciate any feedback from you if you have either of these scopes regarding day/night quality or anything else that you have experienced with the scopes. Most of my foxing varies from approx. 50 yds to 250yds both day/night Appreciate your input.
  13. Checked my zero today on the range and smack on 50 meters Just come back this evening from one of my farms got a dog at 80 mtr and a vixen at approx. 120 mtr on DIY night vision. clean kills on both So I like the 50 zero
  14. got the rifles 22---17---223 Have asked for open ticket but have been told they will open for 22 & 17 now and then ask again for 223 at the end of the year. Think I need to bombard them with land clearance request then they might give in.
