  1. yes you can."preventative action" however you do need to read it an understand it so you can explain if approached i would evidence by stating pigeons eat crops. turn out the crop, note the crops in and on adjacent fields. Safe as houses. you would in this case be undertaking pest control. That means rabbits squirrels and wood pigeon (under the GL) are fine. just because you do not have decoys for instance does not mean they are not eating crops
  2. Hi Scully form what i can see this was a live session via facebook, enabling a Q & A session, at the end someone asked about the offensive weapons bill. I think the media centre would be used to make videos, contact media and radio. this was via face ache as i call it. I thought it was good and if they are answering questions even better.
  3. it covers what they are doing under the consolation. too much for me to write here best watch it via a different platform .
  4. My point is this, Conor is here to share what BASC are doing. Some may not be interested thats fine. but yet i see the same name popping up making negative comments. When i looked earlier this video had 272 views on PW i found it interesting to know what BASC are doing in parliament and what they are doing about the offensive weapons bill. If Conor didn't post this BASC would be slated for not telling us what they do when they do tell us what they are doing ... the same. Everyone has a right to an opinion, i was just expressing mine... I have just checked the post has now had 343 views so ... people must be interested.
  5. The offensive weapons bill is discussed by BASC on the lates video Conor just posted. it is worth a watch
  6. Well done Conor, I can now see a theme of the same very few people knocking every post you make. This was very interesting to watch. it also sets out what BASC do that others do not for shooting. Keep at it and please keep posting the information and videos. there are many many members here who i would imagine read and look anthem whether they comment or not.
  7. Hi SPR Firstly i am a fan of Ben, a great coach his students results show his skill as a coach as well as his own shooting ability. My comments were made in relation to a statement that was not constructive in any way towards the creator of this video. if your lesson was sub £100 i would guess it was for 1 hour and in that time Ben will have got your gun where it should be and you shot some target to see I it was correct. If you had a few lessons and then a gunsmith make the adjustments it would cost you a fair amount. excess of £200 This video is about helping people identify problems when they mount a gun - - what does their sight picture look like and how to correct it. Good Luck with the shooting keep at it 🙂 a consistent mount is required so practice a lot ( its a good excuse to keep going shooting anyway, thats what i tell the wife 🙂 ) Best Wishes Terry
  8. The "Game" Shooting Census is about game .... It is also created / undertaken by guns on pegs ..... The other bodies promote it to get members to complete it... It is worth us al doing, we get a chance to have an input....unless you do not shoot game of course.
  9. Benelli, The Best Semi Auto on the market ! The End ......
  10. This I agree with. 👍 For a shotgun to go where you looking you must have a consistent gun mount and a gun that fits. (thats what this video says)
  11. What are the differences when mounting a shotgun or mounting a rifle? would love to know? how do you shoot running boar with a rifle but not mount the rifle like a shotgun ? Ben is a great instructor with is own methods of teaching, I can see no error in this video and yes I am a coach. A constant gun mount is in many cases what you need to be a reasonable shot. Guns come with pre made measurements wich the majority of people will fit around. I use the word fit around because over a period of time and muscle memory we make them fit ! Very few people ever actually have a gun fitted by a professional, however this video is pretty good at helping people to identify some problems they may face with an off the shelf gun. It then shows how for very little money you can correct them. A lesson and a full gun fit from someone like Ben will cost £c200 Then to get the gun adjusted if it needs it that could be the same .... what of the gun is worth £100 ? As per Enfieldspares comments, hats off for making videos for the beginner to the creator. Keep at it ! looking forwards to more
  12. Very good video for newcomers. Nicely presented keep at it !
  13. This is not only about human health. although there are many papers setting out how damaging lead is to humans. This is about wildlife. there are many papers setting out how bad lead is to wildlife. This is about the perception of shooting. many people do not want anything shot with lead, this is also now starting to be the case with Venison. We need to move with the times.
  14. BASC also make videos, i think this is another outlet and a good way of communicating with a wider audience.. if you do not listen to podcasts that fair enough TGS also make podcasts....
  15. well said This is exactly what it is about. And weather people choose to believe it or not when a community changes what they do for the protection of the countryside and its wildlife people acknowledge the genuine benefit. Its much better than being pushed?
  16. Enfield, seriously ..... there is no lead BAN.. Many are still shooting lead. many will shoot steel personally i think the TRANSISTION is a positive thing. it definitely puts a better light on shooters as conservationists...
  17. Firstly how do you know the transition was lead by BASC? it was signed by CA, NGO, SACS to name a few? Secondly - to see in practice how lead ammunition can be captured and collected rather than being dispersed into the environment. This was a good example of risk mitigation,” Mr Logtmeijer explains. this was on a range? and is not comparable to shotgun shooting live quarry in the countryside
  18. Sorry to hear this, the worst bit about having a great dog and best buddy.....
  19. 2.5" boidegradble are now available. 👍 2.5" now available so good news
  20. Could it be because of the BASC 7 figure fighting fund ? I agree now is time for the shooting community to continue to promote the benefits of shooting. that is the only way we will win the war over this debate. To educate those that do not shoot that is is good for the environment as well as mental and physical health. 👍
  21. The 12g version I have used and they STONK what you hit. a great high pheasant cartridge. I have not used the 20g version although i would expect it to perform well given the performance and reputation the 12s have....
  22. A valiant effort. i am pretty sure if i had a go it would look a hell of a lot worse! well done 🙂
  23. These are a great little cartridge, the benefits of steel Steel shot will not damage the barrels of a shotgun it is a soft iron. Steel shot is lighter therefore you get more shot per gram than lead. It will kill It is environmentally friendly There are now cartridges available for most disciplines with a biodegradable wad (more gauges comeing) Prices vary but some are reasonable The future is bright the future is steel .....
  24. But we are still shooting ........ and that is the point.
