I have shot thousands of rounds from semi autos and pumps, had a few hang ups but never a blown primer. The fault I think was with the cartridge..maybe an overload.
I would still notify the priducers it keeps them on their toes specialy when you mention you have shared the information with the shooting community.

I would take the box the cartridges were in, if it is still available, back to the shop so they can feed back to the factory
As above. Over the years I have witnessed similar but never personally and every time retyrned to maker.

Yep BUT he has made a poimt of standing up for country sports in a number of ocasions.

Good article in the Telegraph this morning where Lord Botham writes about the RSPB trying to hide their efforts to control foxes in Northern Ireland and advocating hunting any wounded foxes with fogs.... a good read. No doubt Lord Botham has been a great asset for the shooting community in the Lords.

The trick undoubtably is picking the right one for the right reasons. Coming up fast to 60years Dunks so know what you have gone through🤣
Well done both and best wishes for a fair few more.
I am sure Dunks will back me when I suggest to you youngsters that you wake every morning with the intention of enjoying every minute of every day come what may because time really does fly.

Just don't pay up. It stinks.
As far as tips/drinks are concerned to my mind they are personal and I never indicate to anyone what a tip should be. I tip for the service I receive not just because I am told to. On a 150 bird driven day that may vary from nothing (it has happened) to £50 where the day not just the birds shot was superbly arranged.

I have been using almost exclusively non lead for about five years both in my 22 centrefire and up ro the awesome 375JDJ and amazingly if I do my job and put it in the right place things keep falling over. From foxes up to wild boar which felt like it was screwed to the ground when we tried to move it. As the Americans say...all one shot kills.
TTX and TTSX being my choice of projectile.

Glad you lads are out and about because what with my hip preventing me walking more than 10yrds without pain and two of my best feeders now impossible to get at due to refurb of the pond and prep for a maize crop this year. May get back at that in late autumn. Apart from my own ground here which I class as tre rat free I only have one feeder now which I can access. Plan to move a couple to new sites where I can get at them with the car. Keep whacking and stacking.

The dog should have been to heel or on a lead full stop. I shoot a farm with footpaths everywhere and I have witnessed dogs 3=400yrds away from their owners. If you want to exercise or train your dog then ask permission. Like a farmer friend I knew who saw a family having a right beano of a picnic in his uncut hayfield, kids playing football and all. He asked them to leave and got a load of abuse. His son followed them home and the next weekend the farmer and his wife set up on their front lawn to have a picnic.
My colleague had the job of sorting it out.

I have an electric golf trolley which could be modified to transport pigeon shooting gear if not golf bags. I think I can find a battery for it as well. CV9 location so collection obviously £35

Slightly of piste...anyone know what weight was in the 2 inch 12 bore shells of yester year. I knew a young lady with a beautiful little 12 gauge shooting 2 inch shells who could fold pheasants as neat as neat.

Yep grey primer BUT the white bits must be whiter than white. I have used plastic milk bottles painted as such with great success then days with real pigeons when they don't want to know.

Just accept it, it's no longer our country.
Over the course of our history we've been invaded and had our culture and language changed by the Romans, Saxons, Vikings and Normans, even the Celts weren't the first to settle here.
Now it's the turn of the South Asian, Africans and assorted east Europeans, bringing their own culture and values.
Things are changing and resistance is futile.
That's about as rational as I can get.
Yep spot on. In 25 to 30yrs time this country will be a #####hole third world country.

Fortunately had a lot of training at shooting from all angles and positions but , yes, standing is certainly more natural and much easier to swing on a bird so not surprised your kill rate went up. The Bergara swivel type seat does help when sitting.
-
Yes I have, but rarely did I take the legs off mine once set up. Not the most comfortable of seats but still pleasant to shoot off. I now use a folding three leg stool which doesn't swivel but is far more comfortable. I have a Bergara and will not be selling it any time soon.

Been a while now since we did any flying but certainly found that farms and such where good value and looked after the motor. They also either took you in or had an arrangement with a taxi firm. Admittedly that was out of Stanstead.

Last year as a bit of an experiment I grew some early spuds in cut down plastic drums filled with farmyard manure and compost. Very succesful so this year have put in 25 seed spuds this week and hoping for good crops. Nothing really beats pulling a couple of handfuls of new spuds ten minutes before they hit the boiling water. Plus you don'y have to buy more than you need and have some lying around for days before they get cooked

None of those green rats yet but do have a pair of stock doves visiting to feed on the maize silage. Goldfinches eating us out of house and home and the hen greenfinch came back yesterday, hope to see some youngsters.

Welll managed to get two nesting boxes onto the refurbished pind today. Easy peasy when you have a front end loader handy. I did try to have the lady driver nudge the bucket control and give him an early bath. The pond looks a bit bare at the moment although apair of Canada geese have taken to it and pretty certain she has a nest somewhere as they did not want to leave whilst we did the work just retired to the centre of the field and watched the operation. Planted some herbage on the bank and also some primroses. Further seeding this week should see it nice and green by theend of the summer.

Lookimng at the photo of your tube I tend to think it is a bit small in diamter, perhaps the hole is not big enough. Just a thought . Also I have heard comments about height. Three feet seems the average with one subsciber putting them at 6ft. I am planning to put ours at about 2 ro 3ft. Difficult to decide which way to point them so will set them at different angles. The pond is pretty well shaded from south westers by the wood alongside. .

I have just been sent a letter with ten choices for a referral for my hip. I chose my nearest Burton on Trent. Tried to arrange it through the indicated web site and got no response. I then phoned the number given and typed in the extension which just rang and rang. I then phoned the hospital number and got a VERY curt woman...who do you want? I don't recognise that extension...gave her the second alterantive extension and she said wait a moment...######awful music then played for ten minutes, so I gave up.
Pathetic.
My problem is not life threatening but I am in constant pain and can hardly walk. There is little doubt the NHS has gone to the dogs ..... however all of those at the sharp end that I have met are trying to do their best.
