  1. I use an army Bergen with the side pockets, and slide the decoy spikes between the bag & side pockets then use the top webbing straps to secure the decoys to the top of the pack.
  2. Not managed to get out much, only 5 more since my last post - 2 vixens, 3 dogs, all with .243 & NV total = 290

I went out this morning; nothing was shot but that doesn’t matter. Being on the river first thing, seeing it all wake up, hearing & seeing geese again (even if they were 400yds away whilst ignoring any of my attempts at calling) was well worth the 2am alarm call.
  7. Another dog cub tonight with .243 & NV = 164
  8. 2 dog cubs tonight, .243 & NV. Total - 163
  9. I’ve got an indoor one now, which is modern for Herefordshire (Khazi that is, not fallow carcass!).
  10. 2 tonight before the rain forced me to retire; dog cub & vixen cub, .243 & NV. total - 152
  11. I’ve had the same; both shoulders taken out with a .308 when stalking, engine room turned to mush and it still somehow made it 20yds into cover. God knows how as it nearly fell apart when I picked it up.
  12. 2 last night; 1 dog, 1 vixen cub. .243 & NV. total- 137
  13. I just whacked an eyed bolt through the upper frame on the outside toilet door. Works a treat, and the missus is yet to notice it.
  14. 12 in the last 3 days, .17hmr when around the farm. Total = 1870
  15. 2 fully grown dogs & 1 dog cub, .243 & NV = 132
  16. I’ve found putange or talpex to work best for me, depending on depth of tunnels.
  17. Cheers. I’m having a hiatus from turning due to a herniated vertebrae, so clearing out any stuff I’ve got left in the workshop.
  18. Hand turned by me from seasoned English ash. Poured lead insert, PU varnish coating & paracord wrist loop. £25 each plus £3 courier delivery. I’ve used my own to brain everything from pigeons to geese & they work a treat.
  19. I’ve got a T1x in .17hmr & it’s faultless. I’ve put close to a 1000 shots through it in a couple of years and it’s never let me down (using Hornady ballistic tips). It is a bit galling having to check each box for split necks, but I’ve only ever found 2 that needed returning to the shop for replacement, and they were in the same box.
  20. I’ve just got a Wraith HD 4-32x50, and the included IR is as bad as I was warned it would be! Does anybody have any recommendations for a decent illuminator for up to £100?
  21. He’s British, and was working in Brazil. That doesn’t excuse him being a ****, but at least read the article first...
