  1. Hi folks Saw this trap advertised on ebay brand new for £335 for delivery; takes 50 clays- im quite tempted but would appreciate folks comments if they've used them before I purchase. Regards Uncle Les http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/like/192052377247?lpid=122&chn=ps&adgroupid=39159866351&rlsatarget=aud-168805810866%3Apla-268911518338&adtype=pla&poi=9046491&googleloc=1007320&device=c&campaignid=698622927&crdt=0
  2. I buy mine slippers, pyjamas and a subscription to horse and hound- suppose a bottle of whisky would save me a few pound; wished Id thought of that
  3. agree SP is a good gun; was just meaning if hes new to sg`s Id save a few quid and get a 2nd hand at half the money- perhaps badly worded on my part sorry
  4. get a gun that fits, in your budget and you can shoot with; seen plenty of folk with expensive guns hit nothing and the guy with the £50 Baikal drops the burdz. If your relatively knew to sg`s I might opt for an all rounder such as a 3" proofed multichoke sporter. Could get a decent second hand lanber/bettinsoli for £450 and save yourself a grand till you get used to the shotty and different shooting situations eg standing at a peg or walked up or flighting duck. Just my opinion but the £1000 + gun of choice for **** shots with money seems to be the berretta silver pigeon so Id avoid! Good gun but as I say seems to be the fashion accessory of choice at the minute
  5. your not wrong and dog should have a memory foam mattress, 2 eider down pillows and an electric blanket.
  6. agree 50p a sheep a no maintenance - that's for hill ground
  7. thanks for replies; tried another dealer and they were even more at £636 inc vat (530 ex vat) think I`ll just bite the bullet and go with the cheaper dealer as at least if something happens they cant wriggle out of it.... A couple of hundred more for peace of mind opposed to the cost of a new gear box, engine, 4wd system in `Year 5` of the warranty would be a sickener. Ive been told the 3yr service is only about £150 so every cloud and awe that!
  8. Hi Folks Have a 2yr old pickup that's just coming up for its 2nd service; Dealer garage looking for about £500 inc vat however Halfords quoted £239 inc vat for a full service. Ive checked with Halfords and they will use parts (filters/oils etc) in line with warranty conditions and say that my warranty will not be affected. Every pennys a prisoner and all that but seems too good to be true. Was just interested how many folk stick with the dealer for servicing or go elsewhere? If dealer was within £50 Id probably just go to them but Halfords are a bonefide business and not some back street fly by night so cant see any reason not to use them.
  9. Only know of 1 and it wears a rain coat and is called George. The owners are a bit soft and carry it if its muddy and it sleeps in their bed with its own wee pillow. Im sure someone will have one as a decent gun dog but youd probably be better going for something else that fits the wifes needs and yours.
  10. Hi I use a garden shed with pop out hole into a concrete run. Run is about 5.00m X 5.00m and on a slope so its on 2 levels. This design was just because of the slope but worked a real treat because dog only does his business on the lower level so makes cleaning easier. Have a raised box bed in the shed and a small plumbed trough (sheep trough) Mines is out most of the working day but sleeps in the porch in the house. Any bedding that we put in his box ends up in the run chewed up but never chews a thing in the house. Seems happy enough
