  1. Massive fan of his. Such a shame as was Glen Campbell a few weeks back. R.I.P
  2. Very similar here. We have a 4 year old and a 24 month old and we live in a tied cottage to my job. When we had the kids we never expected family to help so the wife stays at home with them. My mum looks after them 1 day a week and will have them when we ask but that was my mums choice. As soon as our eldest starts school and the youngest is at nursery then the wife will get a job that fits around them. Not a job that expects family to muck in. If I was you I would state the day/days you are happy to do and stick to it.
  3. We have more rape this year than ever before. Sprayed it off Monday/Tuesday so will be about 3 weeks off cutting. Trouble with rape is there is something or other trying to eat it from the moment it goes in the ground until the moment you cut it. We are about 3 weeks off for our rye grass too. Wheat is coming on now too with some patches burning off early with the dry weather. 2nd wheat is a bit more forward. Spring barley is doing well now after a very poor and very dry start and a fair hammering off the pigeons.
  4. Another 3 weeks away from cutting ours. All depends if the rain ever stops too.
  5. We are dessicating our rape this week. It'll be 3 weeks until harvest then.
  6. Poor lad, hope he gets better soon and is reunited with his owner.
  7. It's got the X20XEV engine but it's been breathed on by Courtney sport, different cams and a remap. It's around the same bhp as the red tops now.
  8. That's lovely, I can't wait til my 2 are old enough to shoot. Oldest is only 3 so a little while to wait.
  9. Yep a great morning and perfect weather for it. New ferrets worked well and didn't get tired. 3 good size rabbits so it was a good result. Looking forward to our next outing.

    Thank you

    Wow. That really touched me.
  11. My cocker is obsessed with her squeaky pheasant toy. She's had it from 8 weeks old and is now 5 years old and won't come out of her kennel without it
  12. Our cocker is called Nettle or Nettie. We have also had a Bramble and a Tiesel.
  13. It's been common knowledge for the last few months. They were caught doing it I believe.
  14. It is true and exactly as it sounds. It's the hunt not far from us.
  15. It wasn't a bad way to spend a morning, we did see a couple more but they always seem to find the hole you forgot to net. Will definately be out again in a week or 2 so hopefully get a few more.
  16. Twigworth would be your best bet I would think.
  17. Well if that's abuse then I must be a bad parent. Our 3 year old loves foraging for blackberries with us and helps his mum make pies and jam with them. He loves coming out in the evening's with me and the air rifle for a few rabbits for a stew or casserole. He is also being brought up with manners and respect so people outside of the family are Mr and Mrs. If that makes me a bad parent then so be it 😊
  18. I honestly can't find the words. There are no words to describe the scum that did this.
  19. Looks like a good days work there. Once we've finished planting our wheat I can't wait to get a bit of time to go ferreting.
  20. Main tractor driver on a 750 acre arable farm since I left college 15 years ago. Wouldn't want to do anything else.
  21. We are over run with both buzzards and rabbits. I was ploughing last week and had 30 odd buzzards landing behind me. Yet they don't seem to dent the rabbit numbers.
  22. We went out on the quad bike a couple of weeks ago with the lamp and over 2 nights we had over 200 rabbits. Ploughing some headlands today and must of had 30 run out in front of me. Certainly no shortage around here.
