  1. Carbon, sorry for the late reply. They do stain, but polish out.
  2. Opinel, sharper than any politician, and keeps its edge.
  3. You jest, after some of the things you’ve put in print l doubt amazed comes into it. 🤮
  4. 1 with the hmr this morning, came into a shot rabbit. Total 531. Lot of Jays about this morning in the oaks, would they have been feeding on acorn’s, as they certainly appeared to be spending a lot of time doing something.
  5. 7 this morning with the hmr, and myxomatosis free.😋 Total 1384.
  6. 1 this morning with the hmr, and if the 17gr Hornardy didn’t kill it, the lake it was hurled backwards into certainly did. Total 1483.
  7. Err no, that would be highly illegal. Our parks can only be used for the encampment of caravans, 4 x 4 trucks, refuse collections and ponies, all with the best wishes of our local council’s.
  8. And they then taught her mathematics 😴
  9. Margeretting is an excellent venue and Ollie will put you in the right direction with your clay shooting, open every other Sunday and only half a mile off the A12. Also has an excellent set up just outside of Onger at Fyfield , which is open Wednesday,Thursday, Friday. £14.00 for 50 Sporting and all on an electronic counter, delayed or otherwise 🤫
  10. Here we go again, you really do like to make your point. Yes were all plebeians and you sir are a master, give it a rest, everyone has to start somewhere.
  11. Same on one of my permission’s, 2 weeks ago you couldn’t move for healthy rabbits, last week walked the whole place and they just sat waiting to be put out of their misery. This week l shot two both in a state, saw a few more but out of 22lr range from where l was set up. Your going to be looking at December/January before there’s anything worth taking. l’m sure someone else be be along with some more information.
  12. I also appreciate engineering qualities in a gun, but if someone, ie the OP decides that the gun he has purchased, in this case from the almighty wabbitbosher, most likely for not an extravagant amount of money required some tlc/adjustments to/for his own requirements good on him. So pleeeeeeease refrain from the derogatory remarks in future.
  13. What do “YOU” class as cheap a Turkish Gun, or are you just a “NAME” gun person for the sake of it. The OP has purchased the gun and gone his chosen path with it, and then along you come and diss him for it. 🙄 As for extended chokes and yellow stickers, l’ve seen quite a few of those on many an expensive gun at the clay grounds, and the owners of such have no idea wth they are doing. Next.
  14. Ahh in your eyes, but that wouldn’t be the first time would it. Everyone has a choice and mine may well not be the same as yours, but hey ho xxxx happens. But never spoil someone else’s.
  15. Owner’s choice, don’t spoil it for him.🤫
  16. Might be better if you put it in the sales. 🤔
  17. Poor little thing, looks like you caught him mid munch, had one in the same situation a couple of years back with a walnut in his mouth, took aim at the walnut and everything exploded just like when you see people shooting water melons, that’s when you wish you had a camera on the gun. Well done with you averaging for the year, you’ve been a very busy man.👍
  18. So today l’ve had 2 squirrels and 2 myxomatosis rabbits, both been laid out as corvid bait in the field opposite my hide under the hazel tree, been waiting half an hour since l had shot the rabbits when l hear the clacking of magpies from my right, there’s plenty of cover for them and they chatter away for an age before one comes down for a looksee, he’s having a good sniff around one of the rabbits when a 42gr round stops him in his tracks, all going well today for a change. Hang around for a while longer but there’s nothing moving within my range so the squirrels, rabbits and magpie are removed for disposal and l’m done for the day. Total 530.
  19. So we’re still set up under the hazel tree waiting for the bunnies to show, good breeze coming from the east so their not going to get a scent of me anyway, spot a couple coming out from the undergrowth, hit the first one and the second doesn’t notice or move, put the binoculars on him and yep myxomatosis so dispatch him as well, the others that did show were out off range of the 22lr today so l collected them and laid them out near the squirrels shot earlier. Total 1327. See Corvids.
  20. On one of my permission’s this morning and after setting up to shoot some bunnies l decided to collect another sack full of hazelnuts from the tree where l set up under, they certainly are in abundance this year. Collection completed and l had just settled down when Mr Squirrel decided he to would help himself to “my” hazel’s and sat himself on an electric fence post not 20 feet away, he was happily opening his nut quite oblivious to me pointing a 22lr in his direction, his first and last mistake of the day l’m afraid. Still waiting for the bunnies to show when squirrels mate turned up, had a root around found his lunch and settled down not 10 feet away, dialled the scope right down and peering over the side of my hide l could just focus on it and he too had Winchester 42gr for desert. Both collected and placed out as corridor bait in the field. Total 1471. See Rabbit and Corvid sections.
  21. Was out late yesterday afternoon checking a permission when a magpie was spotted 150 yd’s off, took aim and sent a 40gr vmax in his direction. Thats one less to bother the song birds. Total 529.
  22. We have them all the time, come in at a great rate of knots over the hedgerows and were taking the birds off the feeders, so l moved the feeders to a more secluded/protected spot to give them a better chance, and it’s definitely helped, but nature is nature so a few still get taken. You know when ones about as the birds suddenly go deadly quiet and nothing moves in the hedges or trees, and sure enough there he is sitting high up in the trees next door waiting for his chance. Beautiful birds doing what they do best, but you still feel sorry for their prey.
  23. Which was the rare treat. What the Sparrow Hawk or his dinner 🤔.
