  1. Hiya all not been on for a while bin too busy renovating a house, its so nice to be back in the real world now. My other half owns a 6yr old whippet bitch that was king of the castle, now she has aquired an 11 year springer dog with his bits chopped off that was going to be put down because the owner died. They were fine together for five or six weeks but now the springer is starting to get very aggressive towards the whippet and people where food and posessions are concerned. He must be feeling threatend or he's trying to stamp his authority but has anyone any suggestions to nip the aggressive behavior in the bud before it gets out of hand. Cheers SH
  2. Cheers lads but it is not a very good birthday for me i am stuck at work trying to earn some extra cash to pay my solicitor who is trying to stop my ex partner from taking half of my house off me. Don't believe the line about common law wives not having any rights. Had my whinge now, finish work at 4PM then going out on the lash. SH
  3. HI eug, Damson gin sounds the biz, do you use the same amount of sugar or do you use less as damsons are sweeter than sloes. Gonna have fun trying these recipes out. Cheers SH
  4. Hi Wookie. Had a hunt round with google as FM sugested and quite a lot of the recipes said to just bung the sloes in the freezer for a couple of days and this expands the water in the cells and bursts them, i suppose this is like when you freeze other fruits they just turn to a mush. SH
  5. Hi to you all not been on for a while. Has anyone got a recipe for sloe gin i havn't made any for donkeys years and i have forgotten how to make it. It looks like its going to a bumper year for sloes round my way the hedges are ladened down with them and they are just starting to ripen. Cheers SH
  6. Just booked a pitch for 3 nights at the at the CLA camp site, too far to drive there and back in one day and too expensive to stay in a hotel or B&B. Anyone ever camped at a CLA gamefair before. Cheers SH.
  7. Cheers NTTF, by the way did you manage to get hold of any Thornits ear powder, I havn't had a problem with my bitch since i started using it. SH
  8. This question has been asked before, i have done a search but can't find it anywhere. My mate has been offered a 2 year old lab from a retiring keeper, the dog is a brilliant worker absolutely fearless, the only problem is that every shot that is fired the dog takes off looking for a retrieve. Can anyone give any advice on curing this problem. Cheers SH.
  9. Hi PB. why you selling it, how old is it and what sort of condition is it in. SH.
  10. Cheers Jono I think i will try it during the daytime first untill i get to know the layout of the rivers, i don't fancy stumbling about on a strange river in the middle of the night until i know what i am doing. SH.
  11. My shooting partner spent two days in hospital over christmas with 3 pellets embedded 2 inches in his leg from a richochet after shooting a rabbit. One pellet was too close to an artery to operate so they pumped him full of antibiotics to protect against blood poisoning and hoped for the best. He's non the worse for it now except for a leaky welly but it could have been lot worse if it had hit him in the face. SH.
  12. Hi Jono, Hope to fish the Nith and Annan this autumn for sea trout, never fished for them before, something i have always wanted to do but never got round to it. Planning on flighting geese morning and night and fishing during the day as i understand both rivers fish well during the day given the right conditions. Any advice willingly taken onboard. SH.
  13. Hi sammy you sound very knowledgable on the subject of tumble drying ?:P? SH.
  14. If the pigeons are hammering a crop, then get out and shoot them, that is the reason why most of us got permission to shoot pigeons in the first place. SH.
  15. Up north we don't use flies to catch trout we use spiders. SH.
