  1. That's what I thought but when watching a video on YouTube it gave you the bands of serial numbers and it started at 1952. I read more and found an article saying it was released in 1952 in Europe and didn't get a good following so was then realeased in the US in 1955
  2. Whole thing has been stripped down, bolt stripped trigger out and all cleaned etc Takes a bit of working out how the trigger comes out and bolt comes apart but all fun. Mine has 2mm of brass added on the receiver so that it will cycle more modern day clay loads From what I can gather mine is one of the first made that didn't have the Prefix letters
  3. Hi, Just bought a double auto and it's a steel receiver model with just 296 stamped on the receiver, this would appear to be a 1952 model. Like all modern guns are the barrels on these guns stamped with the same serial number? I ask as mine isn't but still has a 1952 code on it. Chris
  4. Well I finally got a pair of Alt Berg, spent over a hour in the shop getting the fitting right then got the call today saying they are all done and should arrive next week. Service from their staff is impeccable, i must have tried 7 different combinations before we finally got the fit perfect and nothing was too much trouble for them. Only down side is the misses now has her eye on a pair!
  5. Davey and son isn't far from you, had good service from them buying guns and they do work on them as well. Not sure if it's in house or put out to someone else.
  6. Does he have a web page or facebook page to see?
  7. Hexham is about a 2 hour drive on a good day for me. Looking closer to home if at all possible
  8. Mines done this since new, about 3 years now, I kept getting told it will free off just keep shooting it. Finally in at a local gunsmith and its biting on the grove in the barrels, said its an easy fix and won't cost much to sort.
  9. Hi, My wife has a Winchester Select Light with a rubber comb raiser fitted at present. Where in North Yorkshire/Teesside is the best place to have an adjustable comb cut in and fitted? Thanks
  10. Pay days been now so next week I'll have a look over to alt berg see what they are like. Heading to the game show today so I'll have a look at the other makes if they have any there.
  11. In plastic though aren't they? I need fibre
  12. She's just started to shoot and said the 24g hurt her shoulder so for the moment want to keep 21g till shes more confident and has the gun mount correct every time. 8's are a compromise but when your only allowed 9's they don't help us. I think I'm going to have to try her on 24g again now the guns been fitted to her but don't want to put her off if they are hurting her
  13. I need 9's which neither of them are, wife shoots 21g 8's and and the compx 21g everywhere else just needs 9's for one site.
  14. Does anyone do a 21G 9 fibre? I've looked in all the places I can think of online and can only find a plastic wad which is no good for where we shoot.
  15. I'm impressed they give you the £85+vat back if they do the work, my local stratstone don't and I was having the rear diff rebuilt which is another common problem at over £500 to fix. I did manage to claim 50% of the cost back through landrover as the car only had 56k on it when the diff nose bearing went, that was January and still waiting for the money!
