  1. Great report and result OB thanks for posting, not seeing big numbers around us but today I noticed small groups on the acorns. Beautiful weather at moment for pigeon shooting!
  2. Now that is a lot of pigeons! And to start with none makes it even more impressive, of the seven I shot yesterday one was full of beans one full of hawthorn berries and one full of really dirty barley, but I’ve not seen any significant numbers round here, good work on the duck too!
  3. As said great result and report! It was a great wind yesterday and we stayed dry in east yorks, Do think the pigeons are beginning to flock up PC?
  4. Nice write up, I’d rather shoot a few corkers than blatting these young woodies that come in like ferals!
  5. Great report CH, as said lots of food for them at the mo so your set up did the trick, cheers!
  6. Nice report GC a couple of good shots cancel out the misses, I’ve seen lads at beating off the back of a nightshift definitely struggling by dinner time!
  7. I love perch, as a 15yr old I had 3lb and a 2.5lb on the same day I’ll never forgot it! Looks a great week!
  8. Great report old boggy, it is nice to able to still drive to your spot, soon be back to lugging gear over claggy rape fields!
  9. Yes it’s beautiful weather to be out pigeon shooting, but it seems the flys were out in force on my outing this Thursday, a well earned bag PC welcome back!
  10. It was mentioned today whilst beating, thought to be after some strong/high winds, the man in question found six dotted around his wood after the recent winds
  11. Great session kippy! A money can’t buy 2hr driven pigeon shoot!
  12. I’ve just realised my first post says easy should be East! Beverley to be precise, but you can have them for nowt if you find yourself this way
  13. Hiya Mason, I’ve got some pigeon shells and some fuds come to think of it, you can have if your ever easy yorks way on! No spare hide gear I’m afraid
  14. Great write up and final tally clodhopper, and you got a bit of sea air with the awd Dog!
  15. Thanks old ‘un and PC I though of you as I laid them out just to add I managed 26 off the bean stubble yesterday which is near the barley stubble so the same birds in theory
  16. Thanks OB, I totally agree I’ve stood still under an ash tree no hide and shot pigeons, I must admit my ghost netting looks a bit shiny in that pic! Haha! Cheers mate! I was thinking of dying it green for extra cover!
  17. Cheers Motty! Haha! Not yet but there is talk of meeting up, you’ve got me nervous now, to be honest I have been off PW a while it’s not quite the same as it used to be
  18. Cheers clodhopper! I had them in an east yorks heap but feared the backlash!
  19. Thanks marsh man, that’s as good as I’ve ever done and I have say there’s a fair amount of young un’s amongst the bag which certainly don’t mind a square hide! Or a badly postioned floater! Haha!
  20. Thanks welshgun, aye he’s a good lad, great company, I’ve tried a couple of times to take his picture with a pigeon in his chops but the little begger drops it!
  21. Haha! Cheers Ken yes he sits out front and it doesn’t bother the pigeons
  22. Cheers fuddster, yes going for a look tomorrow at some bean stubble, i suppose it is Stu, I hadn’t really thought of it, what I didn’t mention and you can’t see in the pic is there is a 15ft deep dry ditch between the hide and the trees, so the netting goes round the back, there is a jackdaw in the pic that flew over so he didn’t see me, I think it’s movement that gives you away more than anything
  23. Its been a thin pickings for me all harvest but that’s not stopped me looking and having a go, I’ve been content with small bags to be honest as I haven’t really got a port for big bags, anyway I spied a good few on some week and bit old barley stubble Monday, So I hoped to still see them there tues. i got to field for 11:30 and yes they were about but scattered over three fields, and some old wheat stubble, so picking a spot was tricky, you can have too much choice, I set up on a tree line with a stiff westerly wind on my back, no dead birds so just 20 shells scattered randomly in front, first bird came smashing and when straight on the flapper, the next two, eventually on the magnet, things had been slow and birds were not decoying well but the magnet changed that, and as the pattern grew they really switched on I packed up a 5pm with exactly 50 on the clicker but picked 48, one of which my border Jed picked so all told a very enjoyable day, thanks for reading
