  1. They didn't get any prize money on this occasion. Their fish were visibly smaller than some of the others in the competition, but weighed in heavier, hence the suspicion they were cheating. The feeling is that they must have done this before as their win rate was far too high, as much skill as it takes to catch a fish, there is always an element of luck, and these guys were far too lucky. They will likely be arrested at some point and charged with fraud or something similar.

  2. 7Exceptions for occupiers etc. of land where deer are.

(1)Subject to subsection (3) below, a person to whom this section applies shall not be guilty of an offence under section 2 above by reason of—

(a)the taking or killing of any deer by means of shooting, or

(b)the injuring of any deer by means of shooting in an attempt to take or kill it,

on any cultivated land, pasture or enclosed woodland.

(2)Subject to subsection (3) below, a person to whom this section applies shall not be guilty of an offence under section 4(2)(a) above by reason of the use, for the purpose of taking or killing any deer on any land, of any smooth-bore gun of not less gauge than 12 bore which is loaded with—

(a)a cartridge containing a single non-spherical projectile weighing not less than 22.68 grammes (350 grains); or

(b)a cartridge purporting to contain shot each of which is .203 inches (5.16 millimetres) in diameter (that is to say, size AAA).

(3)A person to whom this section applies shall not be entitled to rely on the defence provided by subsection (1) or subsection (2) above as respects anything done in relation to any deer on any land unless he shows that—

    (a)he had reasonable grounds for believing that deer of the same species were causing, or had caused, damage to crops, vegetables, fruit, growing timber or any other form of property on the land;

(b)it was likely that further damage would be so caused and any such damage was likely to be serious; and

(c)his action was necessary for the purpose of preventing any such damage.

Apologies, I have just copied and pasted from the Act, but my question is, if someone intended to shoot a deer in this way (b)a cartridge purporting to contain shot each of which is .203 inches (5.16 millimetres) in diameter (that is to say, size AAA), where on the animal would you aim?

  3. I'm off there on a family holiday in a couple of weeks. Never been before. Got one of the 5* all inclusive jobs in Antalya, 14 of us. Should be good, fingers crossed.

  4. There is something truly rotten at the heart of American culture that allows this kind of incident to happen time and again. It's another copycat of Columbine, the perpetrators were vilified and yet made famous, or infamous, at the same time, some disturbed minorities even made them heroes.

Gun control of some kind really needs to happen, for example being over 25 to buy a gun. All guns stored properly when in the home.

Special circumstances need special measures. God help America.

  5. I got diagnosed with Polymyalgia Rheumatica in August, I'm in my 50's, but I started getting the symptoms in February. Initially I was denied a Doctors appointment, eventually got to see a paramedic (the receptionist explained they were just as qualified as a doctor), who told me I was just getting old and stiff. But the symptoms got increaslingly bad and I ended up in A&E, who then made sure my local Doctor saw me. Although it was a locum, none of the regular practice doctors will see me as I have SGC, as the original practice owner/doctor didn't agree with anyone owning guns.

It has affected my work, I can't really do any work at height as I am much weaker and the ladders are too heavy, so losing £££'s which is rubbish. Anyway, I have been told I will be on Prednisone for 2 years or so, I have put on nearly a stone since taking the tablets!

  6. One comment and please don't take this the way, I am self employed and service both commercial and domestic markets. If you want to win commercial contracts (and in my trade they are the foundation of success) then you will need to make sure your paperwork is perfect. So spelling and punctuation needs looking at?

  7. Angela Rayner, Nandy, Burgon, Zarah Sultana, Thornberry, Corbyn, Dodds, Lammy, Clive Lewis, Jess Phillips, John McDonnell, Long-Bailey, Dawn Butler, Ed Miliband, Diane Abbot et al make Labour completely unelectable. A mixture of race-baiters, communists, class warriors, Remainers, racists, anti semitic, big mouth nightmares. Long may they be members of the Labout party!
