  1. done and couldn't agree more as a community we need to really give this our best. not just sit around and bleat. I was a little apprehensive of giving my full opinions in the answers in case it gave them food for thought on how to fight back.
  2. Out of interest where did you find the parts you needed?
  3. I am glad that you are on the way to getting your problems sorted although the companies response times and the time they are taking to repair their faults seems a little woeful.
  4. if you are still up and don't mind waiting a little while give them a call, our boys would be out within the hour and would be grateful of the overtime
  5. there will be no charge from the electricity board. if the fault is found to be on your side of the meter they will just tell you to get an electrician. My bet is that it is a neutral conductor broken on their side. when you draw a current it flows down the live conductor (wire) there is a comparative current that flows down the neutral conductor back the the transformer is that has broken it cannot flow hence you don't get the power needed. if you turn on some high usage appliances like the cooker, shower, electric heaters do the lights dim or go off? sorry I meant to say all at the same time
  6. Sounds like you might have a neutral fault call 105 and ask your local electricity board to come and do an earth loop impedance test this will test the return path back to the transformer you should be getting a reading below 0.35 ohms. I am guessing that you are a single phase customer fed via a single phase transformer if so likely hood of any appliance damage is small. A three phase supply and transformer on the other hand can do a lot of damage. Call them any time they will have a 24 hour call out.
  7. I have seen a moon rainbow and also a perfect, thin ring around a full moon on an absolutely clear night formed by ice crystals on a well below zero night I am talking 8 or 10 below
  8. Hopefully it’s just a rubbish report trying to get more bad publicity against shooting. What makes me think this is that the BBC is usually the first to gleefully show the footage. If this true and it is a fairly new shoot it does smack a bit of arrogance.
  9. With pressure building from NRW, LACS and the Welsh Labour government reports like this are not going to help I do hope its not true as it seems to be a new shoot and the area of ground where is allowed shooting in Wales is under threat and shrinking rapidly. 10. look forward to seeing the finished project. you have an incredible talent, I wish I had.
  11. Opinel knives are great an I have for as long as I can remember owned 1 or two. The carbon blades almost rust before your eyes but are very easy to get back to new with a bit of emery paper but getting one open that has got wet or left in a wet coat pocket can be a right beggar, best left on a radiator over night to shrink the wood back down.
  12. I don't think it was closed for profit more that it was attracting a lot of noise complaints, that became impossible to deal with. A real shame as it was a great ground and as said some good competitions. Thankfully we still have Griffin Lloyd shooting ground in the area, which has a great sporting layout.
  13. Sorry to hear you are having a hard time but you have definitely done the right thing and with a decent FEO you now don't have the stress of worrying about your tickets. What better way to de-stress than spending time out in the country? well done West Mercia and i hope you troubles pass soon.
  14. Did you find it close to any power lines as it looks like it has electrical burns on the feathers? I have seen a lot of birds and squirrels like it.
  15. Here he is. He looks more Staffy in this photo buy everything he dud was spaniel
  16. I had a staffy cross springer that my wife got from a rescue home. He was two years old at the time. He was an absolute natural, he would work cover all day long but would suffer with nettle stings and bramble scratches that drove him mad in the evenings due to his thin coat. He would also retrieve as good as most trained dogs but when it came to hide work, as soon as the gun went off he would be off taking the net and poles with him every time, he was a night mare.. he will always be one of my most memorable dogs God bless him.
  17. nice clip. some very good shooting and great to see your dog enjoying old age.
  18. The last two days I have been on, start the day bacon butties and coffee, first drive, two teams of 12, 12 shoot , 12 load, 15 minutes of shooting before whistle blows and you change over. break for refreshments, snacks then another drive, break for lunch then two more drives in the afternoon, same thing. at the end of the days shooting back to the pub for dinner. All in all, breakfast, lunch, dinner, 6000 clays over your head over 400 cartridges shot per person £175 per gun. David Beardsmore, shooting I defiantly recommend trying it
  19. I have got to episode 6 at the moment so might not have seen the years tally but with you 100% I think the three ewes did genuinely get to him and believed him when he told them he hadn't named them out loud.
