  1. Hats off to Fiji this Olympics has given us one of the most thrilling rugby 7's tournaments ever. Fiji gold, Team GB silver. After last nights qualifier team GB-Argentina, nil-nil half time, Argentina's kick for goal and miss then team GB's kick for goal hit the post then score in extra time. Fantastic, Well done team GB, outstanding Fiji your first ever Olympic medal and its a gold.
  2. I also bought mine for £950 (trade sale) multi choke 5 in total, two in the gun three in the case. Although mine was not mint it had a few little marks on the stock were previous owner had rubbed it on their jacket buttons or something. Its always worth being a little cheeky with the seller to see what they will throw in to sweeten the deal I got a cheap cleaning kit and a nice leather SGC wallet. Great choice of gun good luck
  3. have a look on Avalon guns website they have a Browning age look up tool
  4. hopefully catch you up there someday try not to laugh at my shooting too much, as after stand 15 clay shooting turns into clay conservation somewhat
  5. Have to agree been up there several times and its great place to shoot. very varied birds simulating every kind of game, shots get progressively harder as you go up the valley but that just adds to the fun. I count myself as lucky to have this place on the doorstep I try to get up there as many Friday afternoons as I can
  6. that's great its always good to bring the next generation into the sport my 16 year old lad has the bug only down side is it costs me a fortune
  7. Howard Leight are a great bit I am sure you will like them, mine do crackle a little bit but only when they are wound right up but honestly there is no need to do that
  8. lol had to check on our clock and yes they will
  9. Tony spoke to my mate he has never shot the steel but he thinks it might be worth giving the shop a call their details are:- SSM International Tedstone Wafre, Bromyard HR7 4PY Tel: 01886853646 Fax: 01886853539
  10. A mate of mine uses Saga cartridges, he gets them from a guy near Bromyard I'm not sure about steel shot but I will ask.
  11. I finally had chance to use these Kent's yesterday up at Griffin Lloyds shooting ground on their sporting line. They didn't have the punch of the Hull super fast I have been using, but that might be down to the open chokes in both barrels. I could not fault them in any way, even on the long birds they shattered them not just chips or split in halves. I am always looking for a bargain and I feel I have found one with these. Thanks for the info on just cartridges also selling these, as when the local shop runs out I will consider getting some from them although the £15 delivery knocks the edge off them a bit.
  12. I love my Fitbit. My wife bought me a base model a Fitbit Flex for Christmas and it was great, it didn't show you how many steps you had taken in the day but it had a series of lights showing 2000 step increments up to the recommended 10000. But when linked to your phone, tablet or PC it showed me all steps taken, calories burned and even my sleep pattern. I have now progressed through the models and now have a Fitbit Blaze and it is amazing GPS tracker, heart rate, calories, sleep, Height climbed and so much more. They are quit expensive in the shops but if you study the form hard enough you can fid some cheap ones on Ebay. good luck
  13. My God what a scorcher been working all day outside in long cloths and a thick flame retardant boiler suit. I have lost about a stone in sweat and have a face like a clowns nose but no complaints its nice to have a bit of summer at last.
  14. I will sign this defo I think this guy needs taking down a peg or two as he is abusing his position on the BBC by using it to tout his narrow minded bias tripe. I refer to his latest outburst regarding the shooting of grouse and its sale by super markets, labelling it as toxic. He forgets to mention all the employment, revenue for local communities, conservation of local habitats, and wild birds that flourish in a well managed area were predators are delt with!
  15. Thanks for the warm welcome guys Jimsim81 do you keep your hand in with the keepering?
  16. Ha Ha got your chips come hell or high water
  17. Mine is normally proceeded by DAM IT I
  18. Thanks for the quick reply fellas that's all I needed to hear. I will be down there in the morning to get a couple of slabs tomorrow. If any body else is local to Leominster they are at Game And Country gun shop. should I have said that? there will be none left by the time I get there
  19. popped in a local gun shop today and noticed these cartridges being sold at £3.75 a box, they are Kent cartridges MMXVI 7.5 28Gr limited edition. Although being called Kent the are made by Gamebore UK. The reason for putting it out to you guys is I cannot find these anywhere on the internet, they are not on the Gamebore website and Kent seem to be an American brand has any one else tried or seen these? any rate at that price I'm gonna get a slab and let you know how the shoot.
  20. Hi Pete My first day too
  21. Hi I have recently started shooting again after giving it up at the age of 19 (44 now), when I left being a game keeper to go and work in the electricity industry. I never knew how much I missed it until I picked up a gun again last year. Now its a sport both my 16 year son and I love. I mostly shoot clays but hope to have the chance of some rough shooting soon. I have been dropping in on Pigeon Watch for a while now, enjoying the many topics and advice given also a lot of the banter and have decided it was time to say hello
