  1. Do I remember rightly that you could a lighter flint in the back wheel somewhere so it would spark as it went along?
  2. yes very I did feel a bit cheeky claiming off the house insurance but was advised to give them a try by an NFU member. and all the worries about having the spare barrels sorted its self out with me keeping the broken gun. the FEO might pick up on the fact that I have five guns in a three gun cabinet but with one being a tiny .410 and the broken one being just the action and barrels they all fit no problem.
  3. Update on what happened and wow where has the time gone? July 9th when I first posted, seems like a week. so insurance company agreed to pay as it happened in the house they wanted a quote for a new gun and a like for like replacement. New gun £1595.00. like for like, 2 year old ex demo 28" 525 Game £1050.00. I went for the ex demo as I didn't want to push my luck it was mentioned before the insurance company wanted nothing to do with the broken gun and they didn't so I will be keeping it on my SGC and will be able to use my 30 " Sporter barrels on the game gun action. I paid £275.00 for the excess. very pleased

    dog coller

This company sell a good range. https://www.electric-fence.co.uk/dog.html
  5. wow they look great that's some skill there
  6. I already think joker are an awesome, cheap cartridge, used them for some time now. I hope they work out such a simple solution to a problem. Its a bit like the space race back in the day, the Americans spent millions on creating a pen that worked in zero gravity the Russians took a pencil, bio degradable plastic and all that malarkey, paper and cork eh?
  7. just a thought, you could upgrade the RAM and hard drive to an SSD in your current laptop just have a quick google of what RAM your laptop was built with and look to double up, this will certainly speed things up. The only thing that might hold you back is if your operating system is 32bit then it will only see 4GB of ram, 64 bit you can add as much as you like , also you could delete your old browsers one by one and reinstall them again without all the registry history. Getting rid of Norton will also speed things up but you must get rid of everything to do with it. Myself being a tight Welshman, would be looking to try this first.
  8. I don't normally shoot over standing crop unless it is really getting a hammering because I don't want to add to the damage. also having dogs running all day through short barley is pretty rough on them. Let some good looking day over uncut rape go bye last year as I didn't think I could retrieve all the birds.

    Cuckoo

Cuckoo's really are a piece of work aren't they. all that extra work the poor little Pipits had to do, to raise that lump of a thing.
  10. Well seems to me I have a few calls to make tomorrow. Firstly to the gunsmith to ask him to right a note to the insurance company stating that it is uneconomical to repair the gun and if he will let me keep the barrels after all if he is declaring that he has scrapped the whole gun, it might not sit well with him, then to the FEO to see if he will allow it, then the insurance company to see how they want to proceed! Busy day Thanks for all the advice I will let you know how it all turns out.
  11. Thanks for the swift replies. It may irrelevant yet as I might claim off the house insurance and they will probably insist on destroying the gun themselves.
  12. Afternoon all what is the law on keeping a spare set of barrels I have a broken 525 with 30 inch barrels, looking to replace it with a newer 28 inch barrelled 525 I have tried my old barrels on the new action and they fit perfectly so does the fore end. Would I legally be allowed to scrap the old gun but keep the barrels?

    PC Package

Ebuyer is another good place to look. I would basically start looking at anything with 8 G Ram "DDR4 SDRAM" A solid state Hard drive 250 GB and up " as it will be quicker to boot up" but you could get a much bigger hard disk drive the older type, for the same or less money I would also go for an AMD Rysen CPU rather than an Intel as you get a lot more bang for your buck and little difference in performance. all of the things I have mentioned above you very can easily add to in the future to give better performance or storage.
  14. Good videos mate. I enjoyed watching you drop the squirrels.
  15. Seems it might be a weak spot. Mine has cracked following the grain. I will let you know how the repair goes and wether it stands the test of time. I don’t think I am ever going to sell it as I like the gun so much but might go for a newer model sometime in the future if needed. Good luck with finding a stock.
  16. where did yours snap? I have just recently broken 525 stock three quarters of the way through the pistol grip where the trigger guard tang finishes I have sent it for repair but not heard anything back yet. I am hoping it can be fixed as its the only gun in my cabinet I can really get on with.
  17. Mine arrived yesterday they look great cant wait to get them out. got mine off the Ebay shop as they were a quid or two cheaper than the website.
  18. Always top barrel first with 1/2 choke top and bottom for sporting clays, pigeon or driven game.
  19. Thanks for the heads up, I'm running out of things to watch and I really enjoy that sort of thing.
  20. That's really great news. I wish you a speedy recovery. It must have been horrible for you and your family but that light at the end of the tunnel just got a little brighter>
  21. It falls of a gentleman, they scrape it off a pig👍
  22. I have seen that happening here on a woodland walk, people putting the bags down rabbit holes and just leaving them on the side of the path. it just astounds me how vile some folk are. sorry for digressing.

  24. My local had it on as a guest ale just before the lock down bloody lovely pint. And even better, the morning after lock down he sent the message out he was giving away as it would go off and the brewery would not accept any back, grabbed my self two four pint milk bottles full. poor bloke has lost out now but he will certainly get my custom we he reopens.
  25. 32g 5's are quite punchy in my SxS but i find them ok in my 525. saying that i am an 18 stone lump.
