  1. Hi. I have one of the nitesite viper night vision setups, with the screen mounted above the scope. I haven't used it in years, have tried setting it up again but the screen doesn't work. Was working last time I used it. Just been stored in a wardrobe, not anywhere damp or anything. I've charged both the batteries fully and opened up the screen and camera units to check all the connections but can't see anything obviously wrong. There is power getting to the screen unit as I can see the red light on inside. Anyone know what the issue could be or anyone that fixes these things? Thanks

  7. I think so yes. Sadly being the BBC the presenter had to round it off with "we don't necessarily agree with that".... pathetic.
  8. Just heard this in Radio 2. Thought some on here may appreciate it 😂.
  9. Ok so thanks to those who replied. Turns out it wasn't the pump it was an injector, a bolt had come loose but she's back on the road for a shade over 300 quid including all the diagnostics etc. As said it's a decent motor so will keep it going for a while longer! Just as well the scrapper was such a ****
  10. It is a good car and seems a shame to scrap it, yeah 2.2 diesel. The fuel pump has gone plus needs new tyres and discs/pads....I guess with all that it's going to cost best part of 800 quid to fix. Car is prob worth a grand. Only 135k on the clock and should be good for another 100 really. Looking to replace it with a Rav or possibly one of them Dacia dusters.
  11. Hi all, Apologies for the long post... So the time has come that it is going to cost almost as much as my car is worth to get it back on the road. It's currently sitting in a garage and the owner is egging me on to just let him take care of scrapping the car (with no payment to me) with the line of "we do it properly, make sure u get certificate of destruction, won't end up back on the road with liability for parking tickets etc). He is a trusted garage and mechanic of my other Half's father so am inclined to believe him when he says this. I know there are companies like www.redcorn.co.uk who say they will take the car, scrap it and pay me a couple hundred quid. I must have had a dozen random people calling wanting to take it for scrap since putting my details into one of these scrap my car websites. I had an interesting run in with a gentleman yesterday who wanted to take it for scrap but frankly he was had such an attitude and seemed so untrustworthy I didn't let him take it. My questions are: 1. who do I trust, the garage who say they will do it properly or the scrappers who are willing to pay me?? 2. Once I fill out the yellow slip on the v5 and return it to the DVLA is that my liability on the vehicle done, even if the scrapper writes in a bogus company and details?? It seems like a minefield Thanks By the way if anyone wants a non running 05 Toyota Avensis let me know!!!
