I have a small collection of mostly paper carts, but also a few eighties plastic ones from memory lane.

Love seeing these old carts! I have a small collection, Got a whole box of those Rekord carts, and a few Alphamax and Hymax of various ages. When I was a lad in the early eighties me and a mate would scour local shoots for empties and I had hundreds! As soon as I got my ticket at 15, they were all binned - what a shame!!

I have a Turkish Huglu but its a hammergun. 3 inch super steel proofed with multichokes. I really like it. At £600 new probably a bit cheaper than what you want, but a super side by side none the less!

No. To clarify, I am led to believe that restrictions within the cull won't allow .204, although it does deliver a similar energy as some.22 centre fire. Its only anecdotal stories ive heard second hand. Nothing murky being hinted at by me.

I sincerely hope so!! Also .204 ammo is not hard to come by if you use factory only, prices slowly coming down as popularity gains momentum.

The shotgun is 2 3/4" and was recently sent in for re-proof. Currently I only put 1oz lead through it. I would still be nervous though, can imagine weeping into my pillow if something happened to my cherished Hammergun.

I have only used Eley Eco Steel on crows, but no perceptible lack of performance; even on the longer (by my standards) shots. I plan to use up the last of my lead and stick to these, Just Cartridges delivered mine no probs. Will have to try the Grand Prix 21/2" in my old S/S Hammer, if they are safe in Damascus barrels?? Anybody know the answer??

I bought a cracking Damascus Barrelled Hammer S/S Charles Boswell from Wabbitbosher this year. I have contacted Chris Batha, and his partner has replied but they are in the middle of house sale/move, so I am waiting out for info. He thinks he has records from the period - 1890's but cant access them for a bit. My serial no. is 13996.

Solognac hunting mitts, a zip on the palm lets you pop your fingers out, still covered by an inner glove. Really toasty! You can quickly unzip and shoot, then cover back up with the mitt. Not too pricey either.
