  1. fr jones have became expensive there moved to a bigger store premises they wasn't at two big trade events last year that they always use to go to. there being having problems with not dilerthing things and long waits recently
  2. yh if you want a stihl buy one with a 0 series saws alot better built proper work horse and built to a lot better standard than todays models
  3. efco can be hit or miss well it was 10 years ago and then they only had a 2 years warranty its the Emak group red is efco orange is oleo mac same products just different colours and made in italy and parts can be hard to source after a few years have passed . ECHO on the other hand is japanese and there been offering there 5 year domestic warranty for 15 years that i know off. I own echo stihl and husqvarna saws and other 2 stroke tools for my business and as the years go my stihl collection of tools seems to get smaller when i rebuy tools
  4. the 039 is not a pro model saw more aimed at semi professional / farm work / firewood saw. stihl only makes 8/10 true professional saws. of of around 25 models of saws they sell. the newer stihl gear is junk these days low on power as got to meet emissions electronic self tuning carburetors flimsy plastics they break almost weekly
  5. right i'm a arborist / tree surgeon by trade stihl have gone up recently in price by 6% price rise as of the 1st of march. and im my opinion the quality have slipped in the recent years plastics that brake just looking at them or melt no joke. but if you got your heart set on stihl so be it. Forest and Arb will continue to to do last years prices or match any online deal if you can prove it. they sell husqvarna, Stihl, And Echo not echo would be a good choice for you as the warranty for home owners are a solid 5 years warranty and its proper professional equipment. if your prepared to have a day out / a drive there is a trade even on the 1st weekend in may for tree surgeons where dealers will be given really good deals
  6. best file i used to day is the stihl easy file it a 2 in 1 file to takes the racker down and sharpens the cutting tooth at the same time its expensive but worth it and I am a pro chainsaw user with 15 different saws of sizes
  7. you can get stihl clone saws like a 070 or a 660 for around 300 to 350 for a brand new saw delivered to your door and there not bad saws
  8. my brother lives in lynn and council charged him 80 pound to take away his sofa to come pick it up from his door
  9. I'm a pro user of chainsaws a arborist by trade aka tree surgeon, so use saws every day if you want a cheap tough reliable was with a bit of poke for its size the husqvarna 135, it's a 40cc saw 14 inch bar 2 year warranty there around £160 new i have had one since 2013 so if its lasted me 5 years and still going strong. Stihl quality is rather poor these days and the problem with the models below ms230 is they all have non adjustable oil flow pumps pre set and very weak flow rate thicker oil they don't like ok if on stihl bar oil nut its expensive. and i'm using saws that cost from £160 to over a grand. if anyone wants cheap chainsaw chains then go to northern arb supplies there chains are very good and cheap free delivery if you order 2 chains in one go. the chains hold their edge well are have oil holes on the drive links to help carry oil around the bar better
  10. would be simple to charge 2 pound for every visit to the tip whats 2 pound to pay and i'm sure they get more than than there saving back before the years up
  11. i will try and get out on the 1st hopping my 2nd season is better than my 1st. have about 14 trips out on the wash in my 1st season to get rained on alot only to see a half a dozen pinks around 80 to 100 yards high and around 60 yards to our right, but enjoyed every minute of wondering about and finding my feet so to say on the marsh, but going it alone with a mate who is also a fist time wash go'er was a laugh even though a a fruitless adventure.
