  1. The big shame is he must be an incredible twitcher, he could probably get photos others only dream of.
  2. You can guarantee that the test was known about in advance and was being watched.
  3. .25 pellets are dearer as well, but there will be lads using them, @Ultrastu uses a FAC in .25, and @villaman fella on the Agf makes his own slugs in .25, just depends on what you want to shoot with I'd guess.
  4. Nice to know your being appreciated, I'd have said buy a bag of nuts for the feeder, it's a win win πŸ‘
  5. Worth just going for a walk a few times with only the thermal and binoculars, you'll be amazed at what's about, a slightly overcast day like today is perfect, squirrels are very obliging when your playing with which colours you prefer.
  6. Fair play, nothing wrong with being curious. Most things I've read on slugs bang on about shooting a 25mtrs in sub 12, the only one I remember reading that seemed to work for me was an electronic Daystate because the bloke could lift the fps to get them going fast enough without messing around. Shooting nice tight groups at 45 yards I'd say your already performing spot on πŸ‘heavies might tighten things up a touch for you.
  7. I would ask when you pick up the gun, FX rifles can be tweaked to suit different pellets or slugs, but messing too much seems to cause a lot of problems.
  8. What are you hoping they'll do that pellets can't? Jsb heavy do everything I want.
  9. Your right there, I've just walked to the shop, nice sunny day but everywhere is soaking, ditches are all at bursting point, rugby pitches are a bog.
  10. πŸ˜…πŸ˜…πŸ˜…
  11. Already seen a few posts on FB saying first bats have been seen so you probably did πŸ‘
  12. We were at Warwick Castle on Thursday and there was clouds of pollen coming off the trees, saw my first Bumblebee, a brimstone butterfly and the Hawthorn or Blackthorn was in blossom, well ahead of us oop North.
  13. Few lads seem to rate the Zans, but for sub 12, I've seen no reason to be tempted. Even when they come up cheap πŸ˜…πŸ˜…
  14. There is the TXSR but I doubt you'd want to carry it around far, and they are pretty rare, few 3 or 4 a year maybe for sale.
  15. You can put a diopter on anything you want, I've got a FWB 300SU it's a lot of fun for plinking and folk have put scopes on them, but they are low powered guns, because they are 10mtr target guns. Plenty of lads have TXs, Pro Sports, 97s which run smoothly but they'll have been polished and fettled.
  16. Well I got out again today, but the weather was so bad this morning that I nearly didn't bother. It was a real pea soup with a constant fine rain, so I knew everything was going to be soaked. I'd checked these feeders Monday night and the new feeder was only an inch or so down so not busy but used, the open feeders were hammered obviously, the whole area is full of birds at the moment which is great to see. I concentrated on the lane today, I've seen three there that have been giving me the run around, so I parked down there and got my gear ready, then tucked up under the canopy out of the rain, this means shooting lefty, but with a PCP and sticks it doesn't really matter. Almost straight away there was one at the feeder, Pfft Whack number one down. I watched the birds and waited, scanned but the thermal was struggling today, it showed up the squirrels and birds fine, but everything else was a blurr really, and I kept have to wipe the eye piece and my scope. I spotted one up behind the feeder, but it took a while to see it, then it was facing the wrong way, I waited and it turned a touch giving me another lefty shot off the sticks and Whack number two was down. Over to the wood then, lots of birds and pheasants, which are a damn pain, they leave nothing on the ground πŸ™„ I spotted a grey off to the right again but it was happy where it was, then I spotted one high up to the left, no idea how long it had been there, I had to move to get a clear shot but it didn't budge, a bit of hold under for the angle and a solid Whack knocked it out the tree onto the bulbs. Happy with that. The pheasants leave nothing on the ground except for the sunflower seed casings. I waited a while but nothing showed near the feeder or in the trees so I headed back, took a walk round the field and knocked another into a flooded ditch, that stayed there. Back to the lane and there were pigeons all through the trees, and a small flock of Gold finches , they were invisible in the bad light, but glowed up in the thermal, I wouldn't have seen them otherwise. I looked around and could make out something, at least Iin the thermal, took me a while but there was a squirrel flat on a bough, but I had to move around several times to get a shot. 3 males and a female plus the one in the ditch, given how bad the weather was I was really happy with that. I could have carried on, but decided on an early bath as I'd have to strip and dry the gun.
  17. Your welcome mate πŸ‘ πŸ˜€
  18. My pellets arrived Monday thanks, but the Mrs never said πŸ‘
  19. I've got lots of pheasants around my squirrel feeders πŸ˜…πŸ˜…πŸ˜… they don't leave a scrap.
  20. Well done πŸ‘ You did well getting 4 if there's only wheat to draw them in, I don't care what anyone says wheat and maize just don't do it if there's other options. Glad you got out though πŸ‘
  21. So should we πŸ˜…πŸ˜…
  22. Really? I'd have taken England performing like that against Italy, starting young players and completely controlling the game.
