  1. Billy Vincent

    Rabbits

Please don't take offence at this, but I would question whether I was ready to be shooting live quarry, if I wasn't getting consistantly clean kills. Ok, we all miss the spot occasionally, but this should only be very occasionally! Just keep practicing on various dummy targets until you feel confident that you can judge distance, windage and pellet drop successfully (most of the time!). If you do happen to wound your quarry, then be ready with a priest, so that you can humainly despatch it as quickly as possible. Please don't practice on live targets. Good luck fella!!
  2. I'm looking for a Crossman Ratcatcher, with decent scope and possibly silencer too. I have two fly rods and reels in excellent condition to swap, with cash adjustment if needed. I may possibly be interested in any other air weapon, but I particularly like the Ratcatcher. They must obviously be in good, looked after condition, with in tack seals etc. Bristol & surrounding Area. Thanks Billy.
  3. Thanks ern - will do mate! Oh and Tomo - will the Ratcatcher dispatch a rabbit quite easily?
  4. Tomo, where are you located? I'd be interested in the ratcatcher.
  5. 'Rat Stopper'?? - can swop if you like for some fishing gear?
  6. Has anybody got a Crossman 'Rat Catcher' for sale? With or without scope - if so how much? (must be good condition) :*)
  7. Sounds like B******* to me columbus!!
  8. I've got a Logun Axsor - .22 in brand new condition!! Interested?
  9. ok, bottom line.... Logun Axsor .22 4-14x50 mildot rangefinder, mounts leather sling, swivels and spare magazine. Comes with all charging equipment, and hard case. Superb multi - shot hunting rifle - extremely accurate and powerfull. This is practically brand new, and a bargain at £425.00 (could possibly post!) Bristol area.
  10. Logun Axsor .22 in unused condition. Tasco 4-14 x 50 scope. Logun silencer - sling and swivels. All in a hard case. This is quality 8 shot pre-charged weapon with a spare magazine and all charging equipment - which is still on it's first charge, having fired less than 50 rounds!! I'm asking £495.00 for the lot (Brisol area)
  11. Ok buddy - will keep in touch! Billy.
  12. Rabbit Hunter, I think it's always sensible to introduce ferrets to each other slowly. I put mine in separate hutches, facing each other for a week or so. Then under supervision, let them in together in short bursts. I've had a jill and two hobs fall asleep inside a bunny once. They didn't as much as lick it!! After two days I took it out - strange animals they were. You see they don't all make good workers. If I were you, I'd try the gentle approach mate, regards P.s - jills can be very aggressive towards hobs, not always the other way round!
  13. Hi again Jono, I'm also retuning to the sport after many years. I have always shot air weapons primarily, although I have dabled with some clay pigeon shooting, which was great! On many occasions I've thought about getting myself a shotgun licence, and arrange some serious tuition. At present I own a Logun pre-charged .22 air rifle. As soon as my BASA membership comes through, I plan on doing the rounds, with an aim to getting some shooting permission, on the outskirts of Bristol, or even further afield, such as Dorset. It's no secret that the amount of game down that way is generally more plentiful than around these parts. I'm not sure how easy or difficult it might be to get shooting rights, however! I have a freind who likes to hunt with a Harris hawk, but the land that we have been using, out near Pensford, is now quite barron. However, he seems to have gone his own way anyway, and is concentrating on fishing and birds of prey. I do keep in touch with some of the local community in Pensford, and I'm always on the lookout for opportunities. Anyway Jono, if I do get any luck, I'll let you know straight away. I should add that I like to do things in the right way, in terms of respect for the countryside, and wildlife, and I assume you are the same (I hope that doesn't sound as patronising as it reads!!). Anyhow Jono, as I say, I will keep you informed, and maybe we could join up for a shot or two. Regards, and thanks for the reply, Billy
