  1. I doubt that its the skill thats the issue, its the NEED. We live in an age where you can hit youtube and pick up a new skill in minutes everything is at your finger tips, but people can't be bothered as they do not need to make the effort. Its easier to pop to the shop and buy something, where as I prefer to see what I am eating and know what has gone into it.
  2. I didn't realise that you could get the Pheasants following a shoot. The game keeper used to charge the beaters on our old shoot - £8 a brace I think it was. I didn't even bother asking when I went shooting recently with the guys from here. I assumed they sold the bird onto a game dealer - dumping them is atrocious!! Well done Kennett for not wasting them!
  3. Ive just seen this on one of the other threads: http://www.shootinguk.co.uk/firearms/firearms-licensing-the-best-and-worst-revealed-82854 Cambs are doing very well according to those figures, but the wife did take longer! I will report back! 3 months compared to 12 months on essex!!!! WOW!!
  4. TG, I have my SGC application in with Cambs too 03/01/17 !! My wife took around 12 weeks Quite pleased with that! They were very helpful as well
  5. We looked at the Gun your referring to Romes - we then went to Mick and bought our Lanber and saved £500! I would have been very tempted with this one as thats a FANTASTIC price!!
  6. Hi Sel, Thats Fantastic thank you!! I am in the process of sorting out my insurance as we speak as going from Airgun to SG with BASC
  7. Hi Guys, I am looking for someone to go shooting with in the above areas - I live just outside St Neots but work in Farnborough all week. I am keen to learn more about Pigeon / crow etc. decoying if anyone can help? I will of course supply the tea and biscuits Thank you Lee
  8. I have this in .22 - I would never sell it - very collectable and I use my ALL of the time as a working field rifle. Im thinking of having a Regulator fitted to increase the shot count
  9. Cheers Colin!! I will speak to Taff later and arrange to pop over for a brew!!
  10. Hi Colin, that's a great offer thank you for getting involved! I have posted this in my Facebook pest control page as well.
  11. You are welcome Any time Terry!!
  12. Gents, Just a quick update. I would like to say a HUGE thank you to Bakerboy AKA Clay coach Terry http://www.claycoachterry.co.uk/ who took the time to do a proper gun fitting for my wife and I today. Terry undid all of the mis information that we had be given in a very methodical way ( my wife had been told that she was completely Left Eye Dominant and to close it, she is just slight Left eye) and reset our stance which was completely wrong (now the feet are set to 12 and 2 o'clock as opposed to standing side on) The Comb issue was mainly due to an incorrect mounting technique although a number 2 riser from Steve Pountain made things more comfortable so we have ordered one. I will also be ensuring that both my wife and I book a lesson at the first available date. THANK YOU TERRY!!
  13. I would be interested in seeing pics Thank you!!
  14. I live over near St Neots, but I would be happy to travel for an hour to attend. Riseley would make for a good venue I would have thought!
  15. Hi Guys, Following a gun fitting at the weekend its become apparent that I need a taller comb on the Lanber that we have. Any recommendations on comb raisers? Im able to see the full rib so I'm dropping my head to one side and raising the gun in the shoulder to compensate :( Im getting a blinking sore cheek as well!!
  16. Hi All, The BASC Introduction to Pigeon Shooting course in the Herts Beds Bucks Cambridge area was cancelled through lack of interest, however Bakerboy suggested that if we could get enough people interested, he would speak to the powers that be about arranging another. Please vote on the thread to register your interest. Thank you Lee
  17. Thanks Terry! Good idea I will give that a go!!
