    Steve!!!!

Not too bad mate . Been away for a while (not at Her Majestys Pleasure before anyone asks ). I'm a bit p****d off about how little posts I have compared to you guys now . I look like some sort of flamin' newbie   . Sorry newbies!!! Anyway, glad to be back and I hope to catch up with all you guys soon. Steve
  3. Once sat in the pig shed and shot over 100 off the telephone wire leading into the house :( . Silly ******* just take off, fly round the field, then come back and land again! Got a bit boring actually, but good rifle practice.
  4. Excellent sport starlings! Nothing like whacking a few dozen off the shed roof with the air rifle (keeps the eye in). :(
  5. I'm a wee bit early, but congratulations Lazza on your wedding on Thurs. All the best mate! :( Enjoy the honeymoon (and try to leave the hotel room at least once so you can tell us all about it   ).
  6. My father-in-law is cutting 30 acres of wheat this weekend. Yippee!
  7. If you look hard enough, you might find a Benelli for £600. Smashing guns, and half as many moving parts to keep clean as other autos.

    Confused

I gave 3 farms where I shoot regularly, but the certificate states that you can use your rifle on any land which you are given permission to shoot on by the landowner.

    Confused

I've been shooting air rifles for quite some time now, and have owned both .177 and .22 cal rifles. The last 5 years though, every gun I've bought has been a .22 (FAC) - they just seem to do the job better for me! Glad to see some more airgunners on the forum. Steve

    Back again!

I was in Belgium, Spain and the good ol' US of A for a couple of months on business. While in USA I got invited out to shoot "varmints" with a load of in-bred looking fellas all called Bo, Zeke, Billy-Jo-Bob etc (scary looking boys! ). Had a great time exploding prairie dogs with all manner of weaponry  . Anyone been doing anything interesting??

    Back again!

Hi guys :( . Finally back to the forum again ("Were you away? Didn't notice." I hear you say   ). Hope to get on regularly soon, and entertain you with tales of shooting seagulls and using illegal crow callers :( . Steve PS - William I've forgotten my password and I can't log on at my home PC. Help.
  12. You sure it was only local government they had infiltrated? It seems there's a lot of bird-brains in the House of Commons! (Particularly the anti shooting lobby ....... grrrrr :grumpy: ).

    Jobs

I work for Caterpillar, so Martin if you ever want to buy a digger/bulldozer I'm your man! Still, I get free boots and cost price clothing & tools so it's not that bad really! :(
  14. Me too! :( I'm on there as steve_w. See you there!

    England

By "them" I meant the press, football supporters etc. (It wasn't clear from my post though).

    England

No "them and us" Cranfield, I'm a British citizen the same as you . (Frankly, I don't think those types of comments are needed on the forum mate). I'm just hopeful we can now turn on the TV or pick up a newspaper without being bombarded with England football team hype. (We never live up to the hype in any bloomin' sport anyway! ) Hold on, there was that curling team not so long ago .......

    England

Sorry mate ! But you have to admit, there's such a thing as setting yourself up for a fall! Still there's always 1966   .

    England

Come on Brazil! 2-1. England out. Shut up. Go home. Stop talking about football on TV/radio. Stop printing silly pictures of David Beckhams ******g foot on the front page of the newspaper. The way I see it, it's the lesser of 2 evils. They'll whinge for a week or two about being beat, but imagine if they'd won!
  19. Weihrauch HW80/HW90 Webley Tracker/Stingray BSA Supersport/Lightning Any of these break-barrels will do your job, and most can be found for about £200. The BSA Lightning can be bought new with a 3-9x40mm scope etc as a package deal for £200 in the Airgun mags. At legal limits, you'll be shooting out to about 40 yards max (on live quarry) so .177 will be OK. This calibre will also be better for target shooting as well. If you want any more info, just ask :( .
  20. Although you say you're making a bigger disturbance by shooting, consider the following. You're shooting across a wind blowing left to right, and the pigeons are coming from a roost to your left. You poke the gun out, take your shot, and the wind carries the noise away from the birds. However, the sun glints on your shiny blued barrels and every bird within a mile or so knows exactly where you are situated! Noise won't bother them that much anyway (look at gas guns), but flashes of sunlight from a shiny surface are unnatural and will spook them every time.
  21. Hi guys. Just decided to take up a bit of photography, and went and bought myself a half decent camera etc. I know some of you guys are into photography, so I'm looking for tips and tricks! :( Steve
  22. I don't think you'll cheese anyone off if you get the wrong house mate. It's best to get definite clarification from the landowner as to what exactly he owns anyway, as these farmers rent and sell bits of fields etc so often that any map you get will likely be inaccurate. Just remember to be polite and look smart and I think most people will be more than helpful. Whatever you do, don't turn up in full cammo with your gun over your shoulder just expecting to start straight away! Let us know how you get on. Steve
  23. Happy birthday to The Duck! Don't go too "quackers" mate! Oh dear. Yes, yes I know ......
  24. Form a daisy chain? With your peckers out? Ooh err matron ....  Are you on the wrong site again Laz??
