I have been shooting for 10 years, ever since my dad introduced me to wildfowling. I usually only shoot wildfowl but throw in the odd pigeon flight. I enjoy night flighting teal and wigeon but the real deal is dropping a drake mallard or a big grey. happy shooting folks

  1. I have got on really well with victory 35g no. 3 high performance steel over the last two seasons! They are no longer producing them but are working on a new steel shot lineup for 2019. But I still have enough to cover this season. I've had some great shots out to 60 yards through 1/2 choke. They are 73mm cases and are hitting at around 1450fps
  2. I understand what your saying but there are no stubbles here around me it’s not like england haha you have to work hard for any bag of ducks. I will see how I get on thanks
  3. They have outsmarted me indeed haha at least they won’t be shot at by someone else
  4. I live in Northern Ireland so I can only shoot 1 hour after sunset and the birds are not coming in during the morning flight. I have flighted other splashes fine but it was just weird to me why they are coming in so late in the pitch black
  5. I have been feeding a splash for the last 2 weeks with barley. Every morning I go to find 30-40 mallard feathers and check on the feed. However last night I went for the flight and not a bird came in but the next morning the mallard feathers were there so I assume they are coming in after shooting hours? any advice guys ? Thanks
  6. Got one hen wigeon so not too bad
  7. Hoping for some wigeon and mallard been quiet so far this season
  8. Good shooting greenergp, not a bad way to finish
  9. Maxus hunter sounds similar, the lough I shoot on is private but apart from the first day we had little to no mallard come in. It was a good season for teal but the weather never really got cold enough so most stuff stayed on the nearby reserves. Went out for a walk yesterday and ther must be at least 500 wigeon and teal. Typical! Haha
  10. Greenergp i wish i could do another flight of the wigeon but the season is well and truly over for us northern irish ones haha and good luck on getting your wigeon
  11. First of all this thread is not limited just to Northern Ireland, you are welcome to post some of your seasons highlights. Heres a few pics from 31/1/17. Happy shooting folks
  12. Just wondering how everyone's season went? Many mallard about? Strawnend
