  1. I can't help but be sceptical of this-if this really works why do people buy rat and mouse poison? I know what does work as mouse bait though- ritz crackers with the fake cheese filling. I put a humane trap down and it was 20 minutes later the trap had a mouse in it, he was busily licking the cheese filling and then his paws!

    Question

when its all wrapped up who's going to know what it is anyway? could be anything in the parcel.
  3. Because you said a cartridge from each barrel, rather than a cartridge from each gun, it makes me think you are referring to a shotgun? If so I can't see the point- what use is an empty shotgun cartridge case? any mark left by the striker on the primer may or may not be useful as I would think strikers wear because of the amount of cartridges fired, and often get changed through breakage. Apologies if I'm barking up the wrong tree.
  4. These idiots must have driving licences themselves? I wonder how they feel when they are held up by a MAMIL? (middle aged men in lycra)
  5. I found 28g selects were softer on the shoulder than ambers 24g. liked them both though
  6. 😊 can't argue with that performance. scope still works well!
  7. I bought a slab to try as I thought they would give a softer recoil. but personally thought they kicked like my usual 28g which were cheaper. They did the job though.
  8. lots of this type of thing on youtube but this one is quite good
  9. is that an old 3-9x40 Bushmaster scope? looks exactly like mine. got a lot of use in its day😊
  10. I have two hawke panoramas and a vantage max with the same reticle, brilliant reticle and sensible money. point of impact doesn't move when you turn the zoom ring or parallax collar.
  11. When I started installing stoves and flues my boss at the time had a saying that I still use- "I'll do it the lazy way and do it right first time". I no longer undertake installation work but recommend installers I trust, and I don't recommend anyone I wouldn't have in my house. All the guys I recommend want to do a good job, when they finish they want to leave the house and not hear from you again (in a nice sense) they don't want phone calls from unhappy customers. Hopefully you can find an installer like that near you.
  12. Just want to put my tuppence worth in here.I have worked in the stove/solid fuel industry for over 25 years and would like to help and give some free advice. Yes you can fit it yourself but it MUST be signed off by a competent person. (legal requirement). This normally means you get your local building inspector around to do this. Where i live they charge £270 for a 10 minute visit! the material cost for relining a chimney would be approx £500 without insulating the new liner-not mandatory to insulate but best practice. this keeps the flue warm and stops condensation in the new liner, which will potentially rot the stainless steel liner. (condensation can take the form of flouric acid and/or sulphuric acid depending on the fuel burnt). The photo posted isn't too clear but it looks like the fireplace is whats known as class 2-gas and electric appliance only. there doesn't appear to expansion joints in the hearth or back panel so they may well crack with the higher temp of a solid fuel appliance. also, it may an agglomerate material which is made with resins/glue and marble. if it is it would not be suitable and would need taking out. The flue may be a class 2 system and would need inspecting by a competent person to establish suitability. Some houses are built with a flue system rather than a masonry chimney and the layman would know no better. a look in loft would tell a lot-brick stack or flue system? some of my customer do some of the prep work themselves but get a stove installer to do the installation and sign it off, which can save quite a few quid. if you are set on doing it yourself I would pay an installer for a site consultation, If he charges you £50 for the site visit its probably money well spent. If the photo was of a big old inglenook fireplace, and you could stand in the fireplace and look up the chimney and see the sky I would say yep, install a liner and off you go. But that fireplace and flue just needs a look by someone to make sure its class 1 (solid fuel) from top to bottom. big topic and there's more to it than you may think.
  13. have to agree with this part about r+d, I think aa need a buddy bottle type gun in the line up and a bullpup thats more streamline than the galahad-maybe more like an fx wildcat-it just looks right. by the way, I am an air arms owner and fan. they did a survey around christmas time about what people want in a gun, but instead of saying "what do you want in a gun?" they asked specific questions that didn't really work.
  14. Also, being a new bsa with a hammer forged barrel I would definitely clean the barrel. loads of horrible black stuff normally comes out of a new bsa barrel.
  15. If I read this right its a brand new gun with new scope? No disrespect intended but I think its more likely the shooter than the gun. my own experience with a break barrel spring gun is that the tighter you hold it the worse the group gets. I couldn't hit a cows a** with a shovel until i adopted a completely different style of shooting. the best way I can describe it is to imagine the whole gun is covered in dogs carp. you really dont want to touch it right? So, let the foreend rest on your front hand-do not hold it or grip it, try not to let your face rest on the gun, barely touch it if possible, and use the lightest grip you can on the pistol grip. Complete opposite of shotgun and rifle shooting. shoot some practice groups and see how you get on. I watched Steve shalley on AEAC channel shooting a springer off a bench-he was hardly touching the gun but got some impressive groups at 50 yards.
  16. I looked at the WHO website, lots of info there, probably too much, but what I took away from it was that a year ago an international body was established-COVAX- to fund a vaccine program. individual countries signed up and either paid a deposit for vaccines or paid in full at an agreed amount. This was to enable companies to develop vaccines. part of the sign up agreement was that each country was initially allocated enough vaccine for 20% of its population and the vulnerable/weak/old and health professionals were first in line. WHO states no one is protected until we are all protected and ethical and fair distribution of the vaccine is essential. I am surprised that England has the amount of vaccines that we have, considering the terms of the agreement. A lot of the countries struggling to get vaccines signed up a long time ago to covax and paid their subs. I think the media and government say things that make it look like a decision has been made in number 10 or parliament when in fact they may just be complying with a legally binding contract....(takes cover)
  17. I was having this problem this morning then found this online, it worked for me https://www.msn.com/en-in/money/topstories/some-android-apps-crashing-on-your-smartphone-google-to-release-a-fix-soon/ar-BB1eRNCm
  18. I have side lever and bolt action pcp's and much prefer the bolt, easier to reach the bolt than the sidelever when looking through the scope.
  19. Taken from Gamebore website, on the super steel page- Standard Steel Standard Steel ammunition can be used in any shotgun (other than Damascus/twist barrelled guns), in good order bearing any London or Birmingham proof symbols 1954 onwards. For pre 1954 shotguns guidance will be needed from the British Proof Authority. The shotgun must be chambered for the case length of the ammunition as a minimum. Longer chamber lengths can be used with shorter ammunition. *High Performance High Performance Steel ammunition can only be used in shotguns bearing a CIP Fleur de Lys proof mark. CIP recommends a MAXIMUM choke of half (.5mm) for shot sizes 4mm and larger. Please see above for Gamebore's own recommendations based on product performance, our experience, and safety.
  20. Loads of sellers on ebay doing sample packs
  21. Just can't see it working anyway. Look at how much rat bait is used, but there's still a lot of rats about. Where I shoot there is adjoining woodland that isn't managed, squirrels breed there and come into my permission. I guess where woodland is managed more and there are more workers about the feeders will be filled regularly. Most woods are not like that around here.
  22. Mine was doing the same thing, the problem with mine was the ejector claw was rounded on the end from new and was slipping off the cartridge rim. I filed it sharp-not removing too much metal- and its been trouble free since.
  23. My brother had a similar fault with a range rover, and after a long time investigating and lots of money spent it turned out that the remote control for his new central heating was "waking up" the alarm/locking system and the car was waiting for the remote signal to be unlocked. the cure was to park it the other way round on the drive-no more flat battery.
  24. why not look at something altogether better second hand? maybe a weihrauch or air arms, something you may use at home as well? you may get the airgun bug!
  25. I like experimenting and trying different ammo, its an interesting part of shooting for me. so I've just ordered 100 slugs to put through my 12ftlb s410f. the weight and lower speed will be offset a bit by the high b.c. I'm hoping for better resistance to side winds. I did see a video ages ago where jsb were at a show and mentioned slugs made of tin. A 4.5mm slug around 9 or 10 grains would be very interesting for 12ftlb guns
