  1. Could i have these please.
  2. I thought it was my end going pear shaped and was worried that i would be locked out for good.Good luck with the upgrade.
  3. Shot one in similar condition two weeks ago on a Shropshire shoot. Its keel was pronounced and no weight to it at all. Someone suggested it may be a migrant that had lost weight travelling.
  4. I cant remove the bolt from my gun without it being in the cocked position and your bolt is in a fired position. Maybe if you cocked the bolt ( the two pins in alignment with each other at the top of your picture) then put it back in the gun that may help.

    Swallows

Never seen Swallows this late but i did see one lone Swift in November a few years ago. It was traveling in a north westerly direction which i would have thought was totally the wrong way, and as they usually disappear completely from these parts in early August doubt that it got very far.
  6. Plastic zip tie for a quick fix.
  7. Hi, I have just used a red dog to my black bitch and was pleased with the results. If you look up Ptarmidogs stud his kennel club name is Ravenseal Redwood.Hope this helps.
  8. Saw half dozen Swallows two days ago here in the midlands but for the biggest part have been thin on the ground for weeks.
  9. Have you any more pictures of the gun with the pow stock please and what make is it please.
  10. Saw a gun that i thought was a Browning A5 today in a local gunshop but on the side of the receiver was the name Pointer. It looked very similar if not identical to my own Browning but for the name . Anyone know what it is ?
  11. I had a Browning A5 restricted by having the mag tube crimped at Wisemans gunsmiths who then sent it to Birmingham proof house. When it came back it was complete with a Magazine Restriction Certificate stating make, model and serial number and also a proof mark of crossed swords the letters M R and 18 which was the year it was altered. The law may have changed by now but if it was mine would get it checked to be sure.

    Webley Falcon

Thanks for your input gents. I didnt get to phoning Protek airguns oldypigeonpopper but i did go on their web site. My wife promptly confiscated my credit card when she looked over my shoulder. Very impressive site. In Hillers air rifle book it says that the foresight is possibly the same as the Mk 111 so i will call them tomorrow and ask them what they think. Thanks again.

    Webley Falcon

Thank you i will ring them in the morning.
  14. I have what i think is a very early Webley Falcon that i am having trouble finding open sights for. Unlike the rifle i owned years ago this one has no tapped hole on top of the breech block and is dovetailed to take the sight with a machined flat behind it that i think the adjusting screw would push against, I didnt realize it was different untill i bought a new sight from John Knibbs that has a fixing screw as i expected. The exploded drawing on the Chambers site show an early rear sight that is described as obsolete . Does anyone know where else i could look for one or got one in a parts box they would part with. Thanks in advance.
  15. I have a box of Eley 3in Magnum cartridges and states that a gun should have 3in chambers, a service pressure of at least 4 tons per square inch or a European proof pressure of 1000kg /sg cm and/or a shot load of 1 5/8oz in a nitro proofed gun. Looking at my Browning 525 i can only see the chamber length stated. On my old s/s that has 3in chambers it also states a service pressure of 1000/ sq/cm so would assume that your gun will be ok, but that said im not pulling the trigger.
  16. Some years ago i watched a Carrion Crow take an unsuspecting adult Collared Dove off its nest in the conifer at the bottom of my garden. Grabbing it by its neck it managed to fly about 15 yards back to the roof top from where it came, only just making the gutter level. It dragged it up the roof then pulled it to pieces as if it was a hawk.
  17. Thanks gents i will give the freezer method a go.
  18. Been trying to mince some Pheasant breasts so that i can try out some recipes that i have for burgers. The meat seems too soft to push through my old cast mincer so i am struggling. I have put the mincer in the freezer to chill it and the meat in the fridge but before i waste any more has anyone any suggestions please.
  19. Thats a cracker. Is it destined for some lucky devils stick. ?
  20. I use flush chokes in my gun because i am too tight to pay out for extended, but if i had payed out for them i would use them at every opportunity i had. As to comparing them to using an auto i cant see that at all. Your gun will look as safe broken with extended chokes as it will with flush.
  21. A neighbour has just told me that there have been reports of avian flu on Chasewater here in the midlands.
  22. If i only made one stick as good as that i would be quite chuffed with myself. Well done. Is the head made from Lime.?
