Depends on weather but around a month.

Rub the droppings between your fingers. If it's very dry and turns dusty its bats. If it smears or is had its mice.

If it's just on the roof and nowhere else check for bats. Rub one of the droppings to see if it crumbles , if it does its probably a bat.

I seen a flock of 30-40 in Derby yesterday morning. Made quite a racket as they left the roost. -
Usually see boxes of them at the antiques fairs, thought about getting afew myself !

I once saw a magpie chase after a sparrow on the wing, knock it to the ground, then drop on top of it and peck it to death. They initially flew past me at arms length, the magpie so fixated on the little sparrow it completely ignored me. another 15 yards and it was all over.

About 12 years in opencast mines for budge and Taylor Woodrow, mostly o+k rh9 and rh12 face shovel, on the coal face,occasionally bigger shovels. Been out the game for 24 years but still like to jump on a machine from time to time.

Yes this happens often, I've seen them do it a few times. Did a course last year, rats in drainage systems and some of the footage was really eye opening and I've been pest control for 23 years. Two screws through the down spouts stops them climbing up the inside and rules it out as an access point

Watched two scrapping on a lane yesterday, really going for it just like Robin's do. They were hanging on to each other for at least three minutes until I went to pick them up then they released and carried on over the hedge.

I used to get it regularly in my big toe. I was told to look at my diet and try to find the trigger foods, I found out it was fizzy orange lucazade and strawberrys. My mates was always set off by tomatoes.
