  1. Everyone's so sure of their opinion when it comes to debates like these. Having an opinion is fine, but being reserved and keeping a bit back to stay open-minded is a good approach, I find.
  2. I must be missing something. What's wrong with it?

  4. Thanks for the heads up, I'll plan to get there early then
  5. That's the one. Production/cast could've been worse to be honest - but that plot was going nowhere.
  6. My name's Dan, and I own a Bettinsoli. EDIT: Didn't mean for that to sound like my introduction to an AA meeting.
  7. Was Sharknado a comedy? I thought it was a **** take? Haven't seen it, even less likely to see it if it's an attempt at a serious plot. I watched a film a while ago about trees that were poisoning people or something. Everyone was running from the infected, but they didn't know the cause until the end. I recall the film finishing on a close up of some grass (killer grass) moving in the wind. Pathetic.
  8. Got to say - it's nice to read some down to Earth opinions on here. It'd be too easy for people to try and justify spending all sorts on a gun to protect their conscience/decision - but nice to see people being very honest about the cheap vs expensive debate. I don't have the experience of shooting with an expensive gun, I have a cheap (barely entry-level) Bettinsoli - but I'm progressing and smashing clays. I think I'll upgrade soon, I want a nicer piece of wood and some more detail on the action - but that's purely because I want a gun I love the look of, and it's important to be honest about that. I wouldn't trade this Bettinsoli in, it's staying with me, I'm fairly certain it fits very well and it does the job. I think I'd shoot a poor fitting purdey considerably worse than my 700 quid bettinsoli - yet there's a gigantic different in 'quality'. I'm not sure your advice is good advice here mate, people max'ing out their budget because they could seems insane. Unless of course you're buying it for the wood/detail etc. (as I will be), but that doesn't imply a better chance of hitting a target.
  9. Spoke to aimcam last week about their new model. I like the sound of it, and their customer service, so far. I believe they have a special price for the new pro 2 at the Northern Shooting show so if you're going there it could be worth hanging on to buy them. I am. Once I've got a pair, anyone in the North West free to pick them up off me to take them for a spin if they're interested in buying some themselves.
  10. A true pleb, in every sense of the word
  11. I've read (here on PW) that it is better, so fingers crossed it should be a good'n.
  12. Who's going? Just bought my tickets, very excited - not been to a show before and I'm in the market for quite a few purchases so could be a really good day. Any recommendations on nice hotels nearby? Is it the case that things are typically cheaper at the shows than they would be usually or similar prices?
  13. Yep. For around £250 I believe. I'm going to sleep on it, might pick myself one up.
  14. I think one downfall I've seen mentioned a few times on PW is the battery life of the aimcam, not sure if that's improved with the new models but might be worth buying the powerbank with it too. It's a shame all of these devices cost this much, I'm fairly certain a camera of that quality can't be expensive, and mounting them on the glasses can't be a big job either.
  15. I came very close to buying one, but the FoV, zoom, position and default playback speed means you don't get the full picture (literally). It's perfect (arguably unbeatable) as a piece of tech that can show you where the pattern went, the way it uses recoil for trimming the video and fits snug on the barrel with minimal weight added is perfect, but there's no context to the shot - in my opinion. I'm tempted to buy the aimcam pro 2, but I only want it as a last resort. I want to be able to correct my approach without a camera, ideally.
  16. Off the back of the above comments, maybe consider aimcam pro 2, it's the new model. It's half the price, and it gives the full sight picture (ish - camera's a touch higher than line of sight). Now if you want to talk about group discounts on the new aimcam I'm all ears.
  17. If he's convicted, it means, in essence, that he was presented with a right and a wrong decision, and chose the wrong decision, and must be punished for it. In which case, I'd like to know what prosecutors would suggest the right thing to do was.
  18. Is arresting a necessary part of investigation? I'm not asking rhetorically to debate the fact, it's an honest question - I didn't know it was. I think he can be questioned without arrest can't he? Or am I misunderstanding?
  19. I think he absolutely should be called in for questioning given that someone was killed, that's protocol I think is (and should) be standard. But I think it should be resolved pretty quickly and him sent home to recover. The fact he was arrested astounds me, a conviction would be a shocking outcome. Given Tony Martin's case some time ago, I don't think this will result in a conviction. It's already gone too far though, I can't imagine how shook up this man must be - especially at his age.
  20. https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/crime/pensioner-london-burglary-fatal-stabbing-gbh-met-police-arrest-elderly-man-death-a8287851.html 78 year-old fatally wounded a burglar and has been arrested this morning.
  21. Long shot - but I've heard a few people now mention a relationship between production of Bettinsoli and Browning shotguns, does anyone have any details on this?
  22. From my (admittedly, rather limited) understanding of chokes/cartridges/combos of both - I'm more inclined to think the effect was the result of some mental change. You were on your own so had less pressure, which can help (depending on the person behind the gun) or could've been as someone else has mentioned that you were concentrating more because of the choke.
  23. This was Gillian McKieth. Maybe 'You Are What You Eat'? Totally agree, nightmare TV. I don't bother with TV, full of **** - quite literally, sometimes.
