  1. Agree, first pic gives it away, used one in the sixties. Thanks for the link,Im looking for a trigger guard for my old BSA project which has been on the go for a long time.
  2. +1 Scotch mutton pie,eat the crust put the remainder in a morning roll with HP sauce lubbly jubbly.
  3. Parked the jeep off the track, high above Inverness on Leys moor. Put the binos on a derelict cottage where I have seen roe grazing on the ancient garden area. There was a scantily dressed lady, well naked really, who at first glance, I thought was trying to climb the gable end of the cottage. On much, much closer inspection, I seen the photographer shooting his CAMERA at all angles. I could hardly believe I was watching a photo shoot, so had to check again and again and....now where did I put those pics...I wonder if they ever made it to a magazine,I kept looking.. john
  4. Dont know, but it was announced on the BBC world service that they went into admin at 3am. Holiday passengers were told on the 5.00 am news not to turn up at the airport.
  5. Iirc and I could be wrong after all these years, On the notes on the reverse side of the old 10/- gun license the effective killing range of the 12 bore using no 6 shot was 30 yds and 15 yds for the 410. We used eley grand prix then at 14/3d for a box of 25.(12 bore) Lovely gun and great pic of the spaniel.
  6. RIP Hugh, You had a full life and playboy. Its what boys had before the internet,if we could reach the top shelf. Quotes Life is too short to be living somebody else's dream. The major civilizing force in the world is not religion, it is sex. In my wildest dreams, I could not have imagined a sweeter life
  7. Great thread Ultrastu, very well done with the stock and the quality time with the kids. john
  8. They may very well have been in bed,try them now in opening hours and its probably best to speak to their parts department. There could be one from another gun close enough to modify to yours.
  9. I remember reading about the 'New Russian threat' on a headline in a tabloid here, maybe twenty years past. Apparently it was brought here as an exotic plan for upmarket gardens and the seeds from it were spread along rivers and streams to become the'invasive' species it is today
  10. Great pics , I'm so glad she's on the mend. Well done for acting quickly..
  11. Thanks ditchman great thread and a good result. That stock has been transformed. I have two BSA air rifles to do, now I know where to come for advice.
  12. DAVE G AND tx4cabbie are spot on. Eastern block migrants, mainly from Poland, flooded the Highland capital to the extent it was noticeable over a very short period. A Polish taxi driver told me how he had learned the geography of the Inverness town center and how to operate the taxi programmed sat nav by a recruiting company at evening classes in Poland. He was then recruited and financed to work for cut price rates, while paying them off while receiving social benefits to help support his family in Gdansk. Soft touches or just soft. THE COUNCIL (s) ALLOWED THIS TO HAPPEN BY PROVIDING LICENSES. I BELIEVE THIS HAPPENED IN EVERY TOWN IN THE COUNTRY.john
  13. Great photos, cracking dogs RD. john
