  1. I have had emtec for twenty years or more and great. I have always had them fitted at a fair. Always under £100.
  2. For me it is when I walk out across the Merse for a morning flight and hear the skylarks singing on high. I heard them this morning!
  3. Brother in law has lived in France for 18 years and on face it seems idyllic but…..he just makes ends meet as a pensioner and is poor as a church mouse. We visited last year and beautiful as it is I wouldn’t go there!
  4. It put a goose on the deck this morning on the shore as it has been doing for 150 years or more!
  5. I have a Yildiz 28 that I bought with both stocks for me and the grandkids to use easy to,change and great gun for the money. Had it on the shore with tss too.
  6. Thanks it was the pancakes that were the last straw. Bloody awful so,I told the management I would put my hand in my pocket for a change.
  7. Who can recommend a good quality non stick pan? Ours are knackered and I don’t want to buy rubbish. Just needs to suit an induction hob. Thanks
  8. Thanks! My first was black but I prefer yellow on the Merse. I started with springers then decide I valued my mental health too much and moved over😂😂 When I started with yellows thirty something years ago they were a novelty in the field. Now they are everywhere it seems!
  9. I try to train a new dog every two years to maintain a team of three or four at any time. One has been retired this year as deaf so back down to three working. Had a telephone call from a pal ten days ago offering me a dog as she had too many in the kennels and this little chap…Jack….wouldn't get the attention he needed. So Jack arrived here on Thursday. What a little sweetly! Lovely nature, follows me everywhere and if I dare sit down tries to lick me to death. Pedigree is 95% red ink so the potential is there I just need to realise it! All down to me now.
  10. Thanks, he hears the geese before I do. Stays laid down but head goes up and nose in the direction of the geese.
  11. With the lack of geese this year we have been doing a lot of this!
  12. Toughest time pal we have all been there and know what you are going through
  13. So that’s another season picking up finished. Was the worst possible day to be out; cold and wet. The sort of day that goes right to the bones. I am tired, the dogs are tired and all of us ready for a break. Doubtless in a month’s time I will be missing it 😂 but not how it feels just now. Sadly I also now retire the old dog too (white). At eleven he is physically fit and his nose works as well as ever but he is now stone deaf. That makes him a liability to us both as unless he can see me he is likely to get lost. One of the best dogs I have had but thankfully one of the others is just as good so next season holds no challenges without him.
  14. Would love to have this but not sure how I could collect. Do you travel north at all?
  15. Any dog, let alone a pup can bite out if in pain and frightened I wouldn’t blame the pup and I wouldn’t assume it will happen but…My concern is the pup is being wound up and not allowed enough down time on its own. If you aren’t already I would have that pup crate trained I.e it spends most of its time in there and treats it as its safe space. Out for food, toilet and a little stimulation.
  16. Yes I have a 3” no 3 which I took out to 1/2 choke in each barrel for more general use and steel shot. Heavy and pistol grip stock. Good for clays.
  17. I would be locking them away! Idiots!
  18. If I did they would be all over me and I would be at the bottom of the scrum😂
  19. Glad you had a great time. It is certainly a fantastic experience if you haven’t done it. Just the sound of them coming in gives you goose bumps, pun intended! As for cartridges you have learned yourself how good steel 3.5” can be. I suspect your first flight was really a case of not knowing how to shoot them. Thanks for writing up, great to read.
  20. Can’t beat being out on a day like this but it has its own challenges. Not least is making sure not going A over T on any of my 14,256 of my steps!
