  1. I was out too in about -4. Opposite end of the Queensbury Estate to the IGL Retriever Championship. Fabulous to be out and sorry the photo is orientated wrong way! Was up in the hills for the last partridge drive and had our first snow flurries of the winter.
  2. I am a crisp addict but have never bothered attending a help class for it. Haven’t noticed a difference with Walkers. My favourites are Cheese XL, closely followed by Cheesy Wotsits and Seabrook plain. I have a basket on the top shelf where the wee management can’t reach them😂
  3. Really peed me off hearing all that on tv tonight. Never ever is the possibility of natural death mentioned. Yes the loss of an eagle is a great shame but stop stirring the ….!🤬
  4. AYA are not fetching what they did so do look around before you buy. A good example can be had at a moderate price and as you have mentioned the 25 short barrels are definitely out of fashion.
  5. Why not buy some shells and sell me the Blue Dot? 😂😂 But, if you must use it I might have some data from old Alan Myers catalogues if you pm your email.
  6. As has been said, Don’t! Poor quality and far better guns if you have an itch to scratch and want English there are loads out there at far less money. Last one of these I saw had cracked across the action on reproof.
  7. My Dickson is 1/8 and 3/8 and with 28 gms 5 shot is devastating
  8. Imp cyl and 1/4 if you are shooting out to 40 yds
  9. I too suspect the answer is there is no difference as I have pointed out in respect of guns shot in North America but would like a definitive answer if someone can provide it. The practical experience is that shooting steel is neither damaging guns or maiming shooters or we would have heard about it. This question should be an easy factual answer by someone in the gun trade who is not looking to line their pockets by selling the latest steel proofed guns.
  10. Hopefully this is a simple question to answer on this point. Has anyone taken a modern but not steel proofed Browning and the equivalent steel proofed model and compared barrel dimensions such as wall thickness, chamber cones and choke cones to see if there is any difference?
  11. Reminds me of my late father in law. His daughter and I had a Chinese takeaway one night and he returned when we were in mid meal. He stormed out of the house with the same comment about foreign muck. Refused to return until meal completed and all wrappers in the bin in the yard. He was a traditional and very good butcher but unless it was traditional meat and two veg and he wouldn’t eat it.
  12. If it’s ringing alarm bells it is with good reason. Don’t!
  13. Absolutely right. Grew up a mile away and favourite meal when I go back to see me mum, just add chips mushy peas and gravy!
  14. The trouble is Editors control content and if facts don’t grab headlines they don’t get in the publication. It’s called Rabble Rousing!
  15. Spoke to C&G this week and not expecting a delivery from Alliant until middle of next year. I have gone on back order for Steel and Blue Dot. Expensive or not the wildfowling guns have to be fed and commercial ammunition is not available.
  16. Yes my wife uses domestos on them.
  17. Why don’t you take my approach to life? Everyone is an **** **** until they prove otherwise. That way I am only ever pleasantly surprised when someone proves they are not! Contributors to the forum excluded of course😂. What is an acronym?
  18. Yes and if you make them in black with a little lace around it’s sexy. Sorry nothing is sexy about peeing yourself whether when laughing or otherwise.!
  19. It’s handlers who can’t leave the whistle hanging around their neck! Only time I do this is to encourage a young dog perhaps over an obstacle such as a burn, or if there are other distractions such as unpicked birds to run past/ignore.
  20. Get a large Ham from the Cash and Carry and Roast it. Serve with whatever else is easy, new potatoes, sweetcorn etc
  21. Macwets no but whatever gloves you eventually go for I recommend a Hot Hands heat pad in the back. Helps stimulate the circulation.
  22. That is a seriously nice gun! Hope you find someone who will appreciate it and use it!
