My 2 local clubs are £20 a tear membership and then £8 a round of 50 sporting clays. These are local club shoots and are set up each time we shoot. They are not commercial grounds

Would You Say Anything ? If So What ? .
Diss4111 replied to marsh man's topic in General Shooting Matters
A similar thing happens where I beat. Every year at beaters day half the guns won't turn up to beat. So we end up just having a rough shoot and a walked up day. They don't seem to get it that a good team of happy beaters means better sport for them during the year. This year the keeper said that the guns could shoot if they want to make up the numbers as only a few of the beaters this year want to shoot. So they will be out in droves. -

this is more and more common, guns just walking away without marking or letting you know what they have shot and expect you to be psychic. For this reason I always carry a pair of pheasants and a partridge in my bag, that way when (if) they ask if I picked all their birds I will pull them out my bag and say 'yes sir' One shoot I was picking up on I stood about 100 yards behind the line. One guy shot 3 boxes of cartridges and never touched a feather. After the drive and we were back on the gun bus he asked if I had picked all his birds. The answer was the same 'yes sir' -
Eley zenith - are they as good as the hype
Diss4111 replied to archi's topic in Bullets, Cartridges and Reloading
Should be good for the 100+ yard pheasants you'll be killing stone dead then? -
true, there are many many variations but Colmans English is the only true mustard
-
There's nothing wrong with a side by side, once its had its barrels turned through 90 degrees
-
Is there any other kind?
-
And don't forget it is illegal in the UK to eat a pork pie without english mustard

Trouble with this is that a sharp downhill corner would come up just as he is tucking into his bacon bap and he'd crash and probably go through the patio doors 😂

Are they any better than Clear Pigeon 32g at about £230? I very much doubt it. -

Gamebore Buffalo used to be loaded in AAA I have some in my shed. Although checking their website they no longer list them so i guess there was no demand for them

We have LPG at our house. it is a 3 bedroom semi detatched and we roughly use 1 47Kg bottle a month. More in the winter less in the summer as you would expect. We have 4 bottle in the back garden connected as 2 and 2 which a switch over manifold. We pay £66 a cylinder from Flo Gas. You have to have the boiler or cooker altered to suit LPG as it runs slightly different to natural gas. Its a simple job of jet size change. I have not had oil for about 10 years but the monthly cost doesn't seem much different spread over a year

Would there be any interest in a load of manual clay traps? I have probably around 6-8 of various makes, Farey, Stuart, Bowman. Some are on benches and some aren't. Prices are open to offers just looking to get rid of them really. If there is any interest then I'll dig them all out and take photo's These would need to be collected from Essex prices £15-30

I'd be amazed if you are getting any ill effects from plastic wad clay loads. However several years ago now I had a major issue with my neck and had 3 vertebrae at the base of my new fuse together. Shooting was agony and I had a recoil reducer fitted to my gun. Similar to the ISIS one but with hydraulic damping. I have no issues now at all. Do you find that you are being knocked about by the gun? I shoot a Blaser F3 and prior to the reducer being fitted I didn't notice the recoil but everyone else that shot it remarked on how hard it seemed to kick. It may be worth having the fit checked even if it is only a basic check for length and comb height.

Do you shoot with both eyes open or close one eye
Diss4111 replied to Salopian's topic in General Shooting Matters
Depends, Shotgun i shoot both eyes open. I have fairly central vision with a slight master in the right. With a scoped rifle i closed my left and with an iron sighted target rifle I keep both open but have a blinder patch in front of my left eye. Your eyes only truly work as a pair and judging speed and distance is harder with one closed -
He doesn't say. I have a deal with my local RFD, he buys from Clay Game but I get my powder of him for the same price as FES. I buy my primers from him too as he is a pound or so dearer but it saves the postage. There are several people near me who reload so he gets a fair bit of business. So actually thinking about it I only buy wads from FES
